LOL - everyone on here all so intricate with cabling and getting the most out of (expensive) TVs. Good stuff.

Down my high street you walk past Dixons say and they have some great big ****-off 40" Sony LCD with "HD READY!" stickers all over it - whilst it's running some sky box through composite. I mean, why bother exactly? Dumb ***** all over the place are buying these things and not even using the right cables which completely nullifies the point of buying one in the first place. Then they'll get home and think they're ****ing ace with their big screen whilst they show it off to their equally retarded friends who also ponder through life more or less totally brain-dead and ignorant.

My landlord for example, I went round his apartment over xmas and he has some big-ass random LCD that was being run in composite. I brought the matter up, it pisses me off big-time - ****ers with big income and big screens yet very little ****ing connection sense, or sense in general, or the visualisation sense to actually determine that the screen produces a ****ing ludicrously poor signal.

LCDs running in composite is the ugliest thing ever, I dare some of you to try it now - I'd rather have Jo Brand sit on my face for 20 minutes rather than endure 20 seconds of anything on LCD through composite.

I then went and had a rant about this in Gamestation with my old buddies. Some guy was buying some random pre-owned garbage so I thought I'd try and get him into the convo - he didn't have a ****ing clue what I meant.

They should just ****ing ban composite everywhere and FORCE people into using RGB if you have a SD TV or component or better if you have a HD TV. Or even better, force everyone into LCD screens - if you can't afford one then tough titty, save up. "You can't watch telly if you don't LEARN and APPRECIATE first!"

    AARGHHH!! GAS THEM!!!! ALLLLLL!!!!

I don't understand how Composite became so widespread considering RGB hit the UK when the Scart connector did. It's like they decided to take a step back for the heck of it.

Like with those Composite cables bundled with new consoles... What's the point? Just throw in a Scart cable, more people have RGB than Composite anyway.

      Madness.

Same folk who buy ?2000 TV's and ?20 DVD Players... what's the point? If you can afford to spend that much on a TV, surely you care a little more about how well your DVD Player is decoding your films, else it's going to look crap from the get-go.

Its for the stupidly twatty twats who bought a 360 to play on their 14" matsui television.

I'm literally getting livid every time I see a 360 pod now.

The whole thing with everyone at work telling me that its not running HD made me so angry.

The microsoft rep saying it just pissed me off one step further. I had to take my last 2 contracted days off "sick" as I couldn't hack getting into another argument where I couldn't win because of the sheer stupidity of the staff.

its making me angry just thinking about it.

We should start a firm - I'm right in the mood to kick someone's ****ing head in over it all!

I had the same **** last year at GS when some guy wouldn't buy a PSone from me as I recommended him an RGB lead instead of the in-pack composite......

"But you get one of those anyway mate"

"No you don't mate, you get a composite with scart block... it's not even RGB wir..."

"It's rite then, I'll go someplace else..."

          WWEWRRUURGGHHHHHHH!!!! ARGAGHAGHRGHHHHHH!!!!!

Then I get roasted, then I get everyone else (staff younger than me btw) telling me THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COMPOSITE AND RGB!! WHAT AM I ON ABOUT???!!!

I can't be more ignorant if I try - which is probably why I don't have a woman. You've got to be an ignorant brain-dead **** who's easily manipulated into spiking your hair like a 10yr old again and wearing a tight fitting pink tshirt with some ****ty ?1 charity wrist band on.

All I can do is Laugh at them because they are using composite on their CRTs because they are so ****ing retarded they said they can't tell the difference.

That's basically what's happening to me.

I get this all the time - all my mates apart from GregMoss on here run with ****ty leads and don't know ****. Puts me off of even donating cables to them.

They shoulld just split the world into two: us and them. and then give us guns and swords.

I dont even bother trying to help my mates with this type of thing anymore.

One of them just spent ?300 on an LCD 20" TV for his room. I wanted to shoot him when he done it, for ?300 he could have got a really decent 28" CRT that would have been perfect and he has more than enough space in his room but he bought the dodgy LCD and it just looks rank. Picture is awful. Runs his PS2 through composite and its such a blury colour bleeding mess.

Then he comes and plays on my LG HDTV and doesnt even appreciate the amazingness of it all.

                    Their loss..

I saw a couple spending ?500 on a 26 inch asda LCD. I really felt like going up to them, for an extra ?100 you can get a really decent samsung one.

Not worth the hassle. They'll be feeding it composite video for the rest of it's life.

Who the hell goes to a supermarket to buy an LCD?

We've got ****load of LCD TV's at ?300-400 at the Asda I work at. It's just manufacturers clearing out their HDMI-less, HD-Ready-less LCD TV's out cheap because they know the real stores don't want them anymore.

That said, they fly out the door... dispite being 1280x768 (i.e, 15:9 pain in the ass), only offering HD through VGA 60Hz only... they're real naff, but we get few returns, so the ignorant masses seem to be happy with their purchase.
Asda doesn't help by showing off the screen with their crap Durabrand DVD Players.

Is there such thing as a HD Ready TV around 20-22 inch?

                              Comment

I think technically to be HD-Ready the size needs to be at least 23"? I cant be bothered looking it up so someone else can confirm that.
