Actually just played it in single player and had no problems at all, so hoping it's a result of low-res textures in multi-player mode.

That's moir?, and it's basically caused when there's too much detail. You can actually see some moir? caused by your camera in the first shot on the right with the blue/red diagonal bands which is there because it's focused on the pixel structure and the photo is being taken at an angle.
It's possible that it's just an artefact of running the game in HD (I don't have GRAW, so I can't say) or that it's caused by the TV. (which seems unlikely)
How are you connected up?
If you're using Component, ideally you'd be running in 720p, but try 1080i and see if it disappears.
If you're using VGA, 1280x720 is usually best if your display accepts it, but you might want to switch to 1360x768. (or whatever your native res. is)
If changing your settings has no effect, I'd say it's likely a rendering error in the game, or if other people test it and have no issues, then it could be the TV.
Make sure you've got sharpness turned right down if you're using Component.Last edited by andrewfee; 07-11-2006, 23:45.

Thanks mate, I'll try 1080i tomorrow. I was connected via component at 720p.
If anyone who has the game could give it a quick test I'd appreciate it. The map was Shipping Port Day I believe.
Sharpness was turned all the way down. I've just spent about 45 mins calibrating with your guide, but not retried the game. Certainly the picture is better, but doing the Red colour test, I think I have my colour too high as things can be very garish now. Likewise I think I'll need to turn my brightness down just a little more to get better blacks. But definitely a nice improvement already

Well being on a fairly strict budget I plumbed for the Atec/LGAV320WD 32" here. I considered plumbing for a smaller LCD but in the end after using a 32" phillips for years I thought going smaller would bug me after a while. Ordered 4pm yesterday, arrived just over an hour ago... gotta love overclockers.
Anyway, I had a few nice suprises when it arrived and I hurriedly set it up... it has full HDMI support and picture in picture, which aren't even mentioned in the overclockers blurb. It seems a very well built piece of kit for the price too and looks absolutely lovely. Picture-wise I've had little time to play around with settings and I'm using the bundled Composite cable at 720p, but it certainly looks nice and the VGA cable will be bought soon. Anyway, here's a few pics... not the best quality though I'm afraid.

PS2 through scart looks awful though... would s-video be any better? I'm gonna have a play with a few settings now and will happily post some further impressions if anyone is interested.

You're not getting the full 1280x720 res of the 360 then though...! Which kind of defeats the point of HD.
I didn't get any borders with my Tosh over VGA at 1280x720. It filled the screen completely, actually rather too completely as I was losing stuff off the left hand side. The quality was okay from a sharpness perspective (although I think component is just as sharp), but lacking in contrast and colour.
What is the general concensus to which resolution it should actually be?

it is indeed.
I took the Sony back and it turned back into the Tosh.
I'm much happier this time
I found out how to stretch the VGA image to the correct aspect ratio and fill the screen.
The inputs work
I have Picture in Picture once again and I have 2 more HDMI than before.
And Amplitude looks fantastic on the PS2 through component.
I checked the viewing angle on the store display model and couldn't see any of the problems I experienced. Got it home and there is a slight haze on the blacks when at an angle. But noway near as bad as the first one I had.
Remote is still a bit ****, menus are slow and it doesn't fit that well on my stand. But I can live with that.
