Also got the shelfmounts, but I wanted mine out of the way. Also, which impressed me, each set comes with white gloves to keep the fingerprints off. Maybe I'm easily impressed, but that said Classy to me
That's pretty awesome with the gloves...I'm pretty anal & hate finger print marks on anything, think I wiped the Plasma stand a million times the day I put it up & nearly beat my brother up when he touched it & left marks on it

Have you got pics of the Monoliths setup??
Would be interested to see what they look like wall mounted.

They're bigger than I thought, and very heavy. The brackets are solid, just go with a slightly smaller drillbit and hammer the plugs in (as I found out after the first plug was a bit loose).

I thought your wallpaper looked classy. Looks like Harlequinn, Sanderson or some other expensive brand.

Our extension is nearly finished with TV room out the back. I'll take a few pictures when it's all done.

          Looks awesome..nice little setup there

When I move out of the flat I'll definitely be adding a projector to the games room but until I get the space the 42 is plenty big enough

Looking forward to giving them a demo now...just waiting to hear back from KHC about popping down at the weekend.

Thanks man. With a PJ there's no going back to regular TV for films, though I sometimes game on the LED if it's daytime.

If possible, listen to both the Monoliths and the Eggs you were thinking about at the same time, on the same amp Let us know what you think.

                It Didnt

I havent set foot outside the flat this weekend...had a cracking migraine that meant anything louder than a nats fart was going to kill me & trying to audition something that awesome would have been the end of me

Hoping to get there next week now.

                    Nope definitely not

Back in work today & just had a quick look on the website & the swines have put the price of the monolith speakers up to ?765

Still if they sound good that's not bad money...but I might have to rethink because that's pushing me WAY over budget (I originally thought about ?800 for Amp & Speakers)

Did you get there today? I went way over budget. I was planning ?350 on amp and speakers, lol. Still, the speakers were a worthwhile long term investment, and at that price, too good an opportunity to pass up. Amp tech improves quickly, so getting a cheapy amp I know in a few years time I'll be able to grab today's great amps at budget prices

I did indeed Matt & they are freaking awesome

Sooooo deep & powerful they sounded immense.

We fired up a few test discs & everything thrown at them blew me away, we tested the opening scene of TF2 for example & the way thye handled the movement & the bit were Sideswip rips open that Decepticon (name escapes me) sounded great but then when Prime gets involved all hell broke loose & they sounded like nothing I'd experienced before.

They had them running from a Denon 1910 which is pretty much the uper range of my Amp budget (second hand they are about £300) so helped with the idea of what to expect.

I also listened to some Q Acoustics 2000 speakers which are pretty good as well, not upto the Vibe standards but at over £200 less they were good middle ground
They didnt have as much weight as the Vibes but they sounded pretty good.

I also listened to the Eggs & a brand called Elac which had a setup called Starlet
Both were reasonable & the eggs as an entry level setup would be perfect but having been totally spoilt by the Vibes were WAY out of their depth, they didnt even come close to offering anything the Monoliths could do.
I think it's mainly down to the teeny tiny drivers they have to use & a really suffocated by the design.

The Elacs on the other hand were pretty good...easily on a par with the Q's in my opinion.
Price is the same so they are aiming at the same market & fit in pretty well.

I'm seriosuly trying to decide on what to do now...if I had the cash I'd be all over the Monoliths.
They still have 2 sets left (demo & brand new) so I've got a week (ish) to make up my mind so it's going to be a tough week I feel...wonder what I can sell to help the fund??

Get the speakers. I approached it / justified it (lol) as the speakers being a long term investment. You won't ever feel the need to upgrade them - they're close to £2k speakers, you'd need to spend serious money to get better. For this price, you know you'll be using them in 10 years time, if not longer. Whereas an amp, well more sound formats appear, newer tech, there's always an excuse to upgrade HDMI 1.4 in a few years, etc. If necessary, I'd skimp on the amp now and get the best speakers you can get.

As you can tell, I can't speak highly enough of the speakers. The soundscape is unlike anything I'd heard at home, it's a "full room" sound, not a "speaker on the left, one on the right" type of thing. Glad they impressed you, and if nothing else, I'm glad you're listening to lots of speakers rather than just picking up the Eggs. I was in the same situation as you
