My CRT also weighs a ton. I bought it from a guy on eBay and he happened to live around the corner so I dropped by on my way home from work. I half-crippled myself getting it home and took the following day off work as I'd hurt my back. After some investigation it turned out that the TV was 28KG instead of the 20KG I had been expecting- he'd listed the wrong model number on eBay.

        Holy 7.1tastic batman!

You don't own any actual game playing systems other than that cab though?

Yeah, they live in my office though (picture in the retro forum)

I tend to move them around. MD looks rubbish on the PJ though.

That is one cracking setup mr wistles. Your room looks a very size and shape to my front rooms as well.
I've been trying to convince the good lady about changing the other room we don't really use into an HD cinema and games room with proper surround sound.
If you don't mind I'm going to use those pictures to show her how it can be done tastefully.

Thanks. That room is actually a spare bedroom but is the same size as my front froom which is directly below.

                          Adopts Geordie voice....

Day 33. The building work is slowly grinding on despite real life, and a real job, getting in the way.

Everything that can go wrong has, and usually twice. Projection screen had waves so had to go back. LCD was knocked and now broken, thankfully insured so hoping to get a new one over the weekend - I've not gamed in, I don't know, 6 to 8 weeks I guess

I was on it until 1.15am last night. Flooring in the lounge is done, papering throughout done. Need to tidy up the painting, then fill and paint the skirting and put the door on. Hoping to have the lounge ready by Sunday, as in complete. The replacement PJ screen is now up, front speakers going up tonight as well (no center until I've finished painting the lower area of the wall we channeled out and plastered over again).

                          It's a real slog

37" LED up on the wall, looks very nice - nothing to feed it yet, but the static has awesome contrast

Finally got the PJ up for a game last night. Played a few games of FIFA before collapsing from exhaustion. It's a great game to play on a 84" display

Hoping to get the lounge more or less complete by tomorrow, if I can finish the shelfing unit and cabling. Then painting the other rooms. Easter finish, hopefully!

When it's done I'll get some pics up. Right now I'm VERY happy with the PJ and new sound setup, despite only having 2 fronts running with no sub (tomorrow it'll be up!) and using a cheapy Sony amp.

Looking forward to seeing this. My cousin is on about getting a PJ for his 360 to play Fifa!

I've spent very little time playing on the PJ; literally a few games of FIFA, a quick split screen Gears 2 game or two, a bit of the Army of Two demo (again split screen), and Geometry Wars. Immediate impressions are it suits some games more than others. Not sure it's the most competitive way to play FPS titles, you have to move your eyes and head to take it all in, which would affect reaction time. However, it makes a huge improvement to FIFA, as I can now zoom the camera out as far as it will go and still see the players properly Even on my old 40" set the players were too small. No more!

Really looking forward to stuff like Motorstorm 2 on it. But I'm a few days off having the consoles and PJ permanently set up to really test on. I tried Crackdown yesterday but it crashed on the title screen trying to load DLC I have, presumably because I'm not online right now.
