Aye, that's a great match. All the more sweeter because Hugo won it after parrying everything that Remy player was throwing at him. Great stuff. And Remy got what he deserved.

          YSB.

So you had trouble against Elena, and the connection was bad. Yet I didn't win a match, and you parried just about everything I threw at you. Good god, remind me not to play you on a good connection

As a side note, it's nice to see a Ken that doesn't rely on being cheesy (instead, it's all about beating my face in). Just one thing. If your going to choose Ken, just pick him, don't go wing wing wing around all the other characters THEN pick him. Bad show old boy etc. At least embaress me in the match (oh wait, you already did )

EDIT - Forgot to mention I also managed to loose to Boog. At least Elena still has the skills against his Dudley. More surprised by Sean Vs Hugo. Though I have to apologise for spamming HCF+K in the 2nd round. I was trying to do Hyper Tornado to finish you, but forgot it was punch. And no, I had no idea why that kick thingy came out instead.

I just do that to test the connection, man. The greater the input lag, the worse the connection is. I just quickly move the stick around to see what it's like.

              Sorry. :P

Oh, and I didn't exclusively play with Ken.

              GGs.

It was probably Izayoi, not myself. We share an Xbox you see.

Actually I think I saw a few matches. Yeah, Teodi took a bit of a beating.

Why the hate for the "shoto" characters?

For me it's because of players looking for a quick way to get wins. When I challenge on this game first and foremost I want you give a good game, I couldnt care less if I win or not as it aint a tournament - I'm going to take risks and try new things where possible as it's more fun. But you get these players who are proper rubbish at the game but use a method to skank their way to victory which in itself is totally flawed now but they dont know the game enough to realise. The fireball/dragon/hardsweep pattern fails in 3rd Strike due to the parries, you're open all the time if you play like this but the lag on Xbox Live stops good players taking them apart with parries so you're forced to also play using boring meths.

You can play Ken like an absolute don or you can play him completely **** - most people go for the second option.

Mind you there's nothng more satisfying than battering a boring constantly fireball throwing Ryu player only to have him bring Gouki - then he gets battered even harder

Then they realise there's nothing more to see for them and they drop

Aye, playing boring Ken's online is ****ing funny. Just be Alex/Urine and master that headstomp! WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN no competition

Or just be Hugo, jump in anticipating the dragon punch, parry into 360. One of them looks like a fluke, two of them make them **** their pants and try fighting properly which is when you break out the Gigas >_<

well...if anyone wants to show me how ken should be done...

(ps. actually i fought an awesome ken last night. learnt new stuff)

Ken has a lot of style and flair - as soon as I see Ken jump back and throw fireballs it's like "oh he's just giving me the match..."

Look at Ken's movement - do you realise how much simply improving your movement improves your character? Look at how the character moves and use it to your advantage, add backdashes to space out after failed mid sweeps or taps - use rapid forward and back dashing to adjust position and psyche out your opponent, confuse and control your opponent to get what you want (dashing in with fakes makes people jump!) and I cant stress how sick his forward + hold hard kick is! This move moves you forwards and people always try to hit him out of it - learn the timing on it and you can tag a light dragon on the end as they try and hit you. Ken's kicks applied to a solid parry defense routine are what makes him a good character - not his fireball or his dragon.

These are just simple examples it's all about finding out what else you can do with regards to spacing, tapping to stop moves and fake outs rather than follow the Xbox Live Shoto crowd - who are on the whole, rubbish.
