i played against some guy/gal (i dunno - i never use the headset in sf) on hsf2 last night called ossoi, who is grade B. anyway, we had some decent games, he beat me 8 times, i beat him 4, then just when i was going for my 5th, i dizzied him and one hit woulda finished it, but i decided to play the gentleman and let him recover from the dizzy - silly $od just quit mid-dizzy! anyway, back at optimatch, i saw him hosting again a few seconds later and just kept badgering him and getting declined i kept trying about 10 times just to p him off then got bored and went.

had a wicked long game against someone who's name i forget, and we kept being champion ed players which was wickedly old-skool

mind you, i get the most fun on sf3, if only because noone really plays hsf2

i'm slowly getting the hang of it now, and this week have hardly touched ken or the other 'shoto' guys. sometimes i even surprise myself when i pull off certain moves at the last minute (gigas breaker, anyone?)

and madmarc, 7MB!??? unfortunately, on sf it won't matter one bit if your upload is 256k like the rest of us. would be handy for 16-player halo 2 etc though

I had trouble against you on several matches, man. Some were right down to the wire.

Just played some crazy good games against Singho. 5-2 to me in the end, I think. Almost air-parried Necro's Magnetic Storm, but the last couple of hits (when it slows down) caught me out. You must have been hitting those buttons like mad. So many hits...

Great stuff, though. Your Ken > my Yun.

Had a few matches against Pirotic today. Some good games, always nice to play against someone I recognise from this here interweb. Shame about the lag, though.

Also saw sithlordx online, but the connection kept saying "bad" so I didn't bother. :\

Had some great games last night. Totally pissed out of my face at like 4 in the morning. Least I think they were good. Had a few vs Donut think it was 4 all in the end.

well i'm slowly clawing up the ladder now - just as this thread is growing in pages, so i am growing in sf3 experience

in the early pages there was lots of talk against people who always use 'shoto' guys like ken, so i didn't really play against fellow forumites in case i got cussed too

anyway, since then i've been experimenting by veering away from the 'ken-ryu-anyone else with qcf moves' cycle of characters and it's infinitely more enjoyable now, especially when i do something daft like pick Q (in that i dunno how to use him but he's great!) and just try my luck and win. Yesterday I had some wicked games against E- and B-grade players and managed to hold my own sometimes.

Although, the B-grade guy would always revert back to Urien if I beat him, and that drove me nuts! I HATE Urien! He's got that stupid Aegis Reflector thing and that uppercut-into-dashing-swipey-thingy that keep catching me out. Heck, I get bored fighting him as I spend the whole match blocking...practice, practice, practice!

What controller convertors do you use for this game? Because I need to get one as the Xbox controller suuuuuuuuucks for Street Fighter. Erm, I guess being able to use voice comms still would be handy...

Personally I'd recommend the Hori EX stick that can be found...

Zanzaki out of interest what other Hori Sticks have you used? As apart from the fact that it has a Memory card slot, its easily the worst Hori stick between the SC/RAP/EX

Yash has the best stick combo imo.

i used to use my saturn astro but it's a bit crap tbh, so i've reverted to the controller S, which surprisingly i'm rather comfortable with. hasn't stopped me buying a magicbox for my saturn pad but until then...

to gravity0, i'd like to apologise for our crappy game this afternoon - was having probs i think with my connection causing those kaillera-like pauses

seems fine now (according to the adslguide speed test) so hoping to have some sf fun this evening.

oh and even though my 2 month trial ran out i've decided to stay on monthly sub as a) my gamertag helps break the ice and b) i like my sf3ts stats

oh btw i'm probably gonna start using the headset when playing against you fellow ntsc'ers as you lot can give me tips!

oh btw i know the magicbox doesn't work with the headset so when i get mine i'm gonna do plenty of experimenting, and i have an idea that just might work...
