I tried playing this again tonight, and what do you get? Spawn point sniper campers. I died 5 times in a row after moving no more than a metre. I go to a LAN party every couple of months which is enjoyable because you don't get wankers - sadly it seems BF2 is full of them. I won't be buying this game.

Due to the assault nature of the game, I think you just got unlucky, this kind of thing doesn't normally happen to me at least. The people who are really annoying though, are those who teamkill whoever gets in a plane/helicopter instantly, without even saying they want to get in it.

In a game I was playing yesterday one guy was camped out at the axis base with a tank, taking out anyone who spawned and the helicopters...

Nice guy. It was fun when I finally got the better of him with an anti-tank gun.

What's going on with the server? If anything?

Recently, the demo keeps disconnecting me from any server I'm on as soon as a round ends which is proving incredibly annoying. I really do hope these bugs get fixed for the retail release.

I'm guessing the retail server code has been applied as it was released at around the server 'vanished'. Though Neil hasn't been on the forum for a while...

I had a great game last night as the Mec. It was basically a ten minute defence of one single base with almost everyone from both sides desperately trying to hang on. The scale was incredible, especially as a medic dashing between explosions to heal. Great stuff

This is what I love about this game, you have this whole 64 player map yet you still get these really intense base assaults with everyone working together.

Just thought I'd mention, I'm in the process of getting one of the gamesTM servers switched to Battlefield 2, 32 players - once it's done, you can all use that as a secondary kicking ground when the official NTSC-UK one gets full. I'll put a password on it and let you all know...

Demo server crashed, currently installing the new code which already has a bug in it but its easy to work around. Also trying to get this server ranked - I have a couple of contacts at EA.
