Been toying around with single player and random multiplayer games, but am now ready for a proper challenge should be on for some tonight and plenty over weekend so let me know and I will get fired up.

Now we have 2 NTSC servers, plus the GAMEStm offer!

I guess if we got Neil's beast ranked, that would be perfect.

In the meantime, which to use! It's fun builing up the medals and stuff...

Managed a few online game yesterday and they all worked really well. Some nice 16 player Conquest madness.

Shoudl be on for some tonight. Do I just search for the server using the ID on the Thread title then join? Cant wait!!

Right chaps - the gamesTM server is up and running on Battlefield 2, so it's open season if you need somewhere else to camp out while the other servers are busy. Details are:

At the moment, there's no password lock so it's free to go - however, I'm in the process of putting a password on so if you get a lock-out, you'll need to enter it:

ps It's a 64-player server but, because it's a Jolt server, it's not a ranked one unfortunately. Still, should be a good place to hang out and practice.

Only just started playing the other day and although a tad overwhelming at times, I haven't been this excited/impressed with an online pc game for a long time. Much fun to be had methinks...

I shall have to drop by for a game at some point in both of them.

The linux server code is buggy as hell so be patient whilst ea fix the bugs, the server has died like 3 times today.

All seems to be up now... just been on, although I don't think playing against myself is a particular fair contest.

The gamesTM's one is there too now - I've checked that too and it's nice and empty. I might use that one as my own personal playground...

The server code has some serious issues with it, both windows and linux - patch out in the next few days...

Think it was this one I jumped into last night. Started as normal, bit stuttery for a bit then I jumped in a plance and it fell on its arse. Not had any problems like this with other online games so was quite surprised. Was a busy wee server aswell.

It a problem with my 1 Mb connection??

played a few 64 player games on 194.70.50.89 and its great until the server core dumps - come on EA get teh fix out!

this is whats causing pain on our server hopeful for a fix next week.

I thought I should give an update on what we know about this bug.

We have been working hard with this here and have found several bugs in
the networking code that could explain things. Some of the fixes were
included in the demo, which is a later build than the one we sent out to
production (2446.12 > 2442). This explains why people haven't seen the
issue as much there. Other fixes was done after 2446, and will be
included in the patch we will release "soon".

It wasn't really an issue with the speed of the internet-connection or
the speed of the machine running the server. It was rather how the
server prioritized which objects it should send updates about to which
clients. If the client doesn't receive object-updates it will try to
update their position based on the latest information it has (basic
interpolation). This makes objects behave weird when updates are not
frequent enough.

Hopefully we have fixed all issues concerning this. If not we should at
least have made things a lot better. I guess we'll see the truth of it
when we release the patch

Loving this now, this morning I didn't even understand the game, how to play or how to play things but now its ace, and I'm ace too!!

When you lot next playing?

Only trouble I actually have is flying the planes, its quite difficult as you always need to accelerate otherwise you'll lose too much speed and drop to the ground, but when going that fast all the time, its difficult to pick things up to shoot etc, Im just fly all over the place in a complete mess unable to do anything useful. Any tips?
