Nope, did not know that Thanks!

Yeah, I'm Rob. Pretty badass hunter name, think you'll agree.

Love this so much online. Still fairly noobish though!

haha. Yeah, my online name is just my surname, but I'm sure you'll agree 'Hudson' is Aliens/Hawk-cool

We had some cracking 'prance' sessions.

After we did the Royal Ludroth, I later went back into offline to take him on and managed to take him down without too many problems.

I've realised how important it is to prepare and equip better ammo than the regular Normal ammo as a Bowgunner. Is that essential practice?

Ok i'm really going to have to spend some time with the manual. I only just found out that you can use the + button to do an attack as well as x + a, I had no idea the Lance had charge and sweeping attacks

Also, with Classic Control # 1 it has some differing move properties compared to Classic Control # 2

As mentioned within this Gamefaq's post:
For Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Limitations of each control scheme explained".

I'll outline the meat of the differences:
            CC1 (PSP) SYLE:

Sword and Shield: Can't use items while the weapon is drawn unless come to a complete stop and go all the way into the blocking animation. Since this takes almost as long as just sheathing the weapon anyway, it greatly reduces the usefulness of this special ability.

Lance: Can't do Counter Thrust directly from idle - must go completely into the block animation first or do it during an attack combo. This means when are just repositioning yourself outside of a combo and about to be hit, you can block but won't have time to go into the Counter Thrust.

Long Sword: Can't do the Left or Right Moving Slash directly from idle. Must do another attack first then go into the Left or Right Moving Slash. Can still do the Backwards Moving Slash whenever you want though.

Great Sword: Can't unsheathe the sword normally - will always either go into an Unsheathe Attack, Charged Attack, or Block.

            * Note: Some are confused by what you can do with a sheathed Great Sword, so here it is - you can do an Unsheathe attack by pressing Forward+X (or any time still moving + X). You can do a Charge attack by holding perfectly still and pressing just X. You can also do a Charge attack by hold R and pressing X while moving. And you can block by pressing R+X+A. But you can't just unsheathe without blocking or attacking.

            Other Annoyances:

            - X+A is somewhat unreliable on certain moves (i.e. is not sensitive enough) - most complained about is GS Upswing after a spinning slash.
            - Several moves require pressing + (Start) which is hard to reach quickly.

            CC2 (PS2) style:

            - Technically no limitations - can do all moves and combine things like looking around, moving, changing items, etc. all at the same time.

            Other Annoyances:

            - Major downside is can't change camera and move at the same time without using the uncomfortable "claw" technique (left index finger on D-pad) or depending on just L button taps (which always center on your facing, not what direction you are holding, so does no good during attacks).

This is why people always have to wait for bowgunners. For different monsters I have to change gun (sometimes armour too), put away unnecessary amoo and get out the shells I need. 1~5 mins everytime. Everyone else eats and joins, then has to wait for me. They don't understand!!

I completely disagree about the + button, it's not hard to reach at all. I don't think I could cope without my R-stick camera. Going back to MHP2ndG was painful after spending so much time on the Japanese Tri.

I hit HR31 yesterday too, now I can no longer go onto the Rookie server...(if you level up on the server it WON'T kick you out, it just won't let you back in)

I've found it very hard to get online with you guys with this game - mainly because of it's lack of ability to send messages/friend requests to offline users.

So, in order to combat this - I'm adding a Skype name column to the Google Doc.
If you're online in MHTri then sign-in to Skype and we'll all see each other (obviously befriend everyone who has added their Skype name) - hopefully this will aid our ability to meet up.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how else we might be able to aid meeting up in game. Please post here or PM me.

If I haven't yet added your details to the list on the Google Doc - please PM me - I've been crazy busy lately. Apologies.

kanon, saw you online last night but couldnt warp to you as your city was full. Not to worry.

I can see how this is an online title primarily; i havent played offline in ages now. Need to keep going and get my hr up but dont have the time (plus there's only one tv in the house)

Heh. That we did. Prance is the gesture of choice when waiting for folks to get ready.

Might be online after tea if anyone's interested. I'd be on now, but the landlords are popping over so I don't want to have my face buried in a videogame when they arrive. Got to be all grown-up like yeah?

Should have sent me a message matey, though as you've already said, if you're in a quest it's useless. Bit retarded really. Without the 10 player cities Capcom should have tweaked the msg system a bit.

Fought the proper version of Jhen Mohran for the first time last night and it was epic, the finale is very similar to holding Lao back from the city walls in the previous games. Only managed to repel it with a minute to spare and that was with everyone using the best kit they had. Still, no deaths in the team so it was all good

Would MSN or Google Chat be an option for people to organise games? I have Skype but I almost always forget to load it up.

To be honest, I'd probably forget to load both. Could try msn I guess.

MSN would work better for me to be honest if people are game?

Cool, i've sent ya both a PM with my MSN email.

One thing i've noticed about not having voice chat; everyone seems so much nicer
