I can?t believe we have gone 0/8 on this stupid Tonberry NM. Last night when we had 3 Tonberry Rattles and Toxicforce as our THF I thought we were guaranteed a drop for sure. Thankfully both Apathye and Wedgemoon have offered to get another rattle each so we should have another go at some point.

Other than that, uneventful weekend. I think Ces actually played more than me this weekend.

Mine was alright - disappointing in that for the third harvest in a row I got stupid bloody flowers out of my plant pots, flowers that don't sell fast and go extremely cheap .. grrr... but I WILL sell them. I used dark crystals to get these stupid things, I'm no wasting them.

Also I got lost in Sea Serpent Grotto going to Norg and died when my sneak wore off (the sun was shining on my telly and I couldn't see the way!).. but in the process I found something I was on a quest for - which has got me a valuable reward

Also my moogle surprised me by writing a song for me while I was out. Poor thing must've been really bored, lol. I have a weird problem in that I don't want to sell the song, because I don't want to hurt my moogle's feelings. (note to self - it's only a game!) Maybe I should just become a bard so I can learn it, lol.

I got a US ps2 and ordering a copy won't be a problem.
The only problem I got is hooking it up to the internet.
I dont like playing on comps. Wanna play it on the ps2.
Cant wait to play this game!

Well hooking it up is no problem then. It looks confusing as hell but I just left everything as it was and it connected first time. One thing though, you will need a US postcode for the registration address you put in. You only use your own UK address for the credit card details.

Also, get a USB keyboard beforehand - registering without one is a major pain in the arse.

Actually I think Sea is already in Chains of Promathia but S-E will need to unlock it. I hear some other areas are being opened too right?

Anyway, have you guys gone to Sky yet?

Darwock the data for the new areas is already installed from your COP expansion. The February update will simply unlock some more of the areas that were included. If you think back, when COP was announced S-E stated there would be 40+ new areas, but if you check your current region map there were only abou 15-20 new zones. I guess S-E are going for a phased introduction of new areas.

I spoke to a few people around Jeuno last night and the average drop rate for that katana is about 1/20 to 1/30. the two I spoke to one got it after 29 tries the other took 30 tries.

Are you talking about Hototogisu? I got mine on the 3rd try, others I know with similar luck, however it IS down to luck, because one friend of mine got his on the 16th try or something :/

Confusing to say the least, since Apathye could not even see it, im guessing this was a bug because everyone nearby said they could not see it.

As I said I gave all my stuff to my "poor" friend, who then went out and camped the NM that drops the "Thief knife" and promptly got 21 million gil for it . lol.

Anyone know a company or a service that can send somebody to help me connect it to the internet?

What kind of help? It's as simple as plugging a cable in. I would say are you sure you have broadband, but this is 56K compatible as well (not that I'd recommend it!!)

If you have the game, then you have the US HDD. If you have the HDD, you must have a network adapter (since this is the means by which it connects to the console). If you have a NA, then you will see the plug on the back for the ethernet cable (and one for the phone if it's a US NA).

When you load the game it allows you to configure the settings (leave them all at defaults and it should work - for broadband at least)

Last night was a rather chilled evening of playing and as such I had much fun than I have when I am getting stressed out worrying about gil.

I did some farming and got a Beastman Blood stack (31k), Silk Thread stack (20k), 3 stacks of Beehive Chips (6k each) in the space of 2 hours which was apretty decent haul considering the timeframe.

However, the best came helping Mihki in Sea Serpent Grotto. Had to take him to the vault to complete the quest for Scroll of Tonko: Ichi as well as getting a Grotto Chest Key so he could have a map to the zone. I took the flight over to Kazham and got a nice ego boost when a level 30 player asked if he could check my gear as ?he liked to be awed? ^_^

I then went over to Sea Serpent Grotto and met with Mihki. Went to the vault, got the ??? point and proceeded over to Norg. Near the entrance was the dead body of the person who asked to check my gear on the airship. Seems a Ghast had taken a dislike to him Proceeded to kill the Ghast and Mihki did the Raise, and the Ghast dropped the key needed. Signs were good that this was going to be a successful trip.

We then proceeded beyond the Silver door and Qull the Shellbuster was up (drops the Exocets H2H weapon). I asked if Mihki wanted to try for them but I got aggro before he could answer so he had no choice. WHM sahagin linked so Mihki dealt with the link whilt I distracted the NM. Qull has a ton of HP (those MNK HP Boosts in effect ><) but once Mihki tagged on we killed him easily. Got Exocets drop which Mihki claimed (me and Bayan got me a pair about a month earlier).

We then continued on and found a Treasure Chest getting Mihki his map.

It was a fun night of playing. Doing this less stressful stuff is nice to build up motivation for the game every so often.
