Then along came Promathia, and the main concept of Promathia was to focus on story and fewer system side changes. And to have everyone do the same story, unlike the country missions, you needed to have everyone in the same area. So rather than have people go to Tavnazia in droves, and spoil the Tavnazia experience, I thought "let's make the entrance to that area tough enough so that people don't arrive in such large numbers." It's sort of like an immigrant policy or something. We don't regret a single thing about the story and the way we developed it, but looking back we made that entrance to where most of Promathia takes place a little too difficult, and we tried to scale that back in updates later.
This is particulaly interesting. I wonder what exactly changed in the things you do to enter COP?

So far they?ve only changed CoP chapter1, the old ENM bosses where apparently insanely hard even with anima?s, spamming AoE?s and hitting harder also there ?spawn? would be ?tough? mobs instead of EM or DC, to the point people would only use only perfect setups(War/nin?s, Smn, Rng) something I guess the development team at the didn?t think would happen, but when you have a player base that prefers to ZERG thing?s than use skill its always going to happen.

I pretty such they haven?t changed any other fight yet in updates.

Monster placement in the Promyvion zones was originally much harder than it is now, which obviously made travelling to the Spire a more difficult task.

I think he makes a good point with this:

However, what we noticed in developing Limbus as it is now is that lots of players seem to constantly ask, or at least people who are vocal enough to post, seem to ask for something newer without actually having experienced everything there is so far in the content up until then. So perhaps you get people who say "give me more Limbus" without having finished the Zilart missions, or without having done Chocobo Racers, or without having leveled their NPC fellow. And what we're saying is that we'd really like you to enjoy what we've put so much time and effort into making before we overstretch ourselves on making new things as well.
This is quite cool as well.

What on earth is Limbus? Exactly how much have I missed?

            Comment

Limbus is a new smaller level based Dynamis for Sea/CoP regions, you have to have Sea Access to get there and acts like a treasure hunt for the most until you fight the boss, basiclly there a crap load of route that can take you through level full of different types of enemies (elementals, goblins etc, etc) and your need to do something specific on each level to pass to the next. On each floor there are multiple tresures boxes that can be opened to get either time limit extensions, items(items and limbus coins) or mimic mobs. I?m sure bayan can be more accurate has he?s actually been on these.

The item and coins can be traded to Npc?s to gain either lvl74 AF+1 (original AF beefed up to the f?in max) or 5-6 kickass items that can only be gotten with coins.

Yup the october release was pretty big, lots of new goodies just to keep us going till th next expansion.

So speaking of sea and Limbus how is everyone going on getting to the next major CoP boss fight? Keen to get that one done before I take a break from that storyline to start pushing through the Zilart missions.

Is everyone who was up for the Zilarts still up for them, at the moment I have the list for ZM4 as:

                Darwock (BLM/SMN)
                Talizker (RDM/BLM)
                Mosley (WHM/SMN)
                Tsingtao (PLD/WAR)
                Rarehero (NIN/WAR)
                + 1 other probably Kerushi

All we need I think is a lantern farming trip to get us our 4 lanterns and we should be able to give this one a go. Tempted to get my Pso'Xja map before doing this as well so I don't have to reset tonberry hate twice.

I haven't really played since last Sunday, popped on for the Aqueducts thing last night which didn't happen, instead tried to help Wedgemoon soloing a fomor but messed that up (attacked without doing a check first, /slap what's wrong with me!) and got killed... I'm finding it quite a hard game to get back into to be honest.

So basically I haven't made any forward progress on CoP.

                    I hear that.

Apologies for no showing for Phomiuna last night but last couple of nights I?ve gotten home from work and just not felt like playing. I?m sure I?ll be back at some point but whenever I feel logging on seems more of a hassle than enjoyment, I need time away.

Saying that, I did log on this morning to check auctions and the Enfeebling Earring had sold so Apathye, Bayan, Daragon, Kerushi and Mosley should all have 816666 gil in their delivery box.

Well, just spent near enough all my gil on a new Millionaire's Desk for myself. Have I walked into the same trap that has snared many a player? Hype/word of mouth? Its supposed to add TH+2 yet I've seen no real difference over my default TH2 - How do people even find out whether an item has a hidden effect or not? Its not like the item is going to tell you.

Should I just sell the desk back? I can think of a number of other things the gil can be used on.

I thought it was well known that desk is a hoax.

Well, word on Allakhazam is that some people are seeing a difference and some aren't. I'm hoping for some hard facts about this item - How do people know that it adds to TH and why +2? If its coded into the item and somehow you could view item files and find out that way, then I MIGHT keep it. The other uses for that gil I had in mind was to level a craft, probably cooking. Only problem is that the majority of people I've spoken to don't make profit on items they craft unless they collect the materials rather than buy them - if I can't make a profit without farming then that option's dead to me.
Also thinking about a new belt for my blm - penitent's rope was something I had my heart set on, but its increased by 500k over 2 days to 2.5m so probably another nogo.

Perhaps I should keep the desk until after I obtain my moldavite earring (whenever thats going to be) Opinions?

Profit isn't made from farming your craftable item's as time=money to, by the tim eyou've farmed your items you could have crafted and sold a crap load of consumable items. Profit comes for HQ versions, all crafts will HQ giving either more of the same(for less) or better stats which people will want.
