Final Fantasy XI Then...

Happy new year indeed folks - at least this year I wasn't sad enough to be playing FFXi when the bells went! Nope, I was playing MGS3 instead.

Just to let you know I've finished the cutscenes after the last CoP tasks and now i'm on 'darkness named'. Bit confused as there was mention of checking the tenshodo before Pso'xja but they don't want to tell me anything, so I guess I'm at the right stage?

I ended up playing a whole lot more than I had planned over Christmas which meant I hardly touched my other games or DVD's that I had lined up... Quick summary of main activities:

Leveled White Mage > Lv26
Completed CoP NM's now ready for 3-5
Defeated Ifrit and Ramah Prime (3 more to go before Moon Bauble!)
Sword Skill Ups (finally! - now at 156)

I still haven't managed to do a BCNM20 although I did sell a couple of items to at least get enough Gil to fund consumables etc.

hmmm, think thats about it. lol, its not that much really!

Also given up on my Hagun for now, it?s going to take at least a month for the prices to fall back, I don?t think the market for a Sam only weapon can stay that high for long, hopefully it?ll fall back down to 4.5/5m range after 4/5 get listed.

And have we sent a date for doing CoP 3.5 being we all have the setup done now?

The 360 FFXI Beta is due on Thursday which should be interesting. Has anyone heard if you can use a normal PC USB keyboard with this?

I know for a fact that the game will once its released so I assume it would for the beta aswell. If the game doesn't OFFICIALLY support voice chat (although I'm sure you can still use the private chat option via the guide button on the control pad) and doesn't allow the use of a USB keyboard, what would be the point?

Defeated Ifrit and Ramah Prime (3 more to go before Moon Bauble!)

I also have 3 to go, however in typical eco-warrior fashion I think it's a different 3 from you. I still need Garuda, Ramuh and Titan.

Having to lay out on oil and powder for that return to Ifrit's Cauldron* has decimated my gil reserves again - this is really annoying as I went to the effort of getting some 'valuable' one-off quest rewards to sell for funds, and now it's all been pissed away on consumable items. Doing that BCNM20 will no longer get me anywhere near the amount I need for Sleepga II, so I've lost my motivation to level ninja.

*we had a comical guide who literally didn't know left from right. Seriously. He would say 'ok we need to take a left here' and then run right. We had to correct him 3 or 4 times, towards the end he ignored the turn he had told us to take and ran on - I pointed it out to him but he said he knew what he was doing and kept going.. we all sat in the cloister while he ran blindly on, off a cliff, and died out of reach of tractor.

Am ready for CoP 2-5 and I think a couple more missions too now, as yesterday I managed to get Hicory's WHM to 50 ^_^.

Thanks to Mosley, Talizker and Tsingtao, have also completed {Limit} {Break} 1.

Would post a funky screenshot but I'm at work ("booo!"), but nonetheless I am still pretty chuffed by having got my first job to the big five-oh ("yaaay!"). I'm not sure why but there's something about the five at the front of it that makes it seem "high" compared to forty-something and everything before (for me at least). Don't think I realize how much of a milestone it would be until I got here!

Wedge and Daragon (plus any other 360 owners), are you guys planning on getting the Beta disc this Thursday? I know Tal has already mentioned and as long as my Argos order goes through ok (fingers crossed, although all signs are good so far) my 360 should be arriving on Friday and I?m gonna grab the beta.

Should be interesting going onto a new beta server. Experience the game from a different angle.

i did the argos thing to, got e-mail of them with 'to be confirmed' delivery date instead of friday which i chose, so i don't expect to get one even though they seem to have taken the money off me according to the e-mail. pants...

did they say it would be delivered on friday for you?

Yea, I'm getting the beta this friday (unless the magazine sells just like the console did on launch day - I am NOT queuing outside a newsagent at 3am on friday morning)
