Yes! I know I am interested in a static. It'll be a while before I reach 50. I'll discuss it with Mahl tonight, PLD/WHM/BRD would be an ideal start to a static.

found this on allakhazam - cool as SNK style FFXI video

Could I use a Visa Debit Card to pay for FFXI?

Is it worth importing a whole PS2 and HDD for this?

Or should I wait for UK release?

Will a UK Network Adaptor work in a US/NTSC PS2?

        Thanks

I still have my Samurai at lvl 43, so it wouldn't take you to long to catch me up.

so it looks like we could have a good static party with our varied jobs.

I will be on FFXI as usual later on and maybe we can get some plans sorted for it.

              In response to Muck:

              1. I think Square-Enix's payment system will only accept Credit Cards, not debit.

              2. Impossible question to answer as it is completely subjective to answer. Personally I love the game but even so find it difficult to recommend someone pay out for a brand new PS2 + HDD combo simply because this game isn?t for everyone. The timesink that is required to make any progress is absolutely massive and frankly that isn?t for everyone. If you are not prepared to spend hours at a time playing and expect the money, experience and job levels to come easily this game probably isn?t for you. However, do not feel that I am trying to put you off. If you are willing to put the time and effort in there are few gaming experiences that can be as engrossing and downright fun. I certainly don?t regret a single hour of time I?ve spent in game and look forward to many more. It?s just that many people will drop out of the game at an early stage, as it simply does not offer what they were expecting and if you were to shell out for US PS2 + HDD to discover this, it?s a lot of money to go to waste.

              3. If you are insistent on playing the PS2 version then waiting for the European version may be a non-event. The September release that has been announced is, so far, only confirmed for the PC format and there us great uncertainty as to whether the PS2 HDD will be released in Europe at all.

Genkai 1 - still no items for it.

I cant believe what happened though, im in a party trying to get the Ancient Papyas and someones friend in the party wants to do his Bard AF2 which is in same place.

I think for a start were already doing something, if the Bard wants that he should plan and organize a party for it himself not get people who are already doing stuff at the place to drop everything to help him.

Nearly a whole alliance died, we were no way strong enough in the first place for it.

Anyway, im in no rush for Genkai 1 but if you all wanna do a LS party and get it done anytime count me in.

You guys wanna do Genkai 1 this weekend then? I'm up for it whenever so count me in, I need Papyrus and Bomb Coal. I think it's just 3 of us (Shenhua, Wedgemoon and Toxicforce) that need this right? If it is just 3, then getting the Papyrus in one evening for all of us shouldn't be much trouble especially if Aegen joins us or anyone else thats wants to help

BTW, if anyone feels like lending me a hand with mission 4-1 all I need to do is get the Quadav Augary charm from Beadaux, take it back to Jeuno to trade for some key item then go back to Beadaux and get the Magicite from there, then get the Magicite from Davoi. I'd appreciate any help with this loads cause I could do with the Airship pass pretty soon. Cheers.

I would be up for Genkai 1 this weekend, although if its Saturday I might be a bit limited, I might not be able to after 7pm, but before that should be ok.

Rare. You mentioned getting the Utsusemi: Ichi scroll to sell for cash... As far as I can tell from allakhazam I only need to do two other quests to get enough fame to do this: the tonko quest and the (Ninja-)Poison scroll quest. Is that right you think?

i did many zinc ore quests to get enough fame for the utsusemel quest....

You'll need to raise your Tenshodo fame a certain amount before any of the quests for Ninja Scrolls will be made available to you. I think the quest for Utsusemi: Ichi is the one that requires the highest fame level, however, completing the quests for other scrolls will increase your fame to eventually unlock the Utsusemi quest.

However, as Tox has mentioned, there are easier ways to raise our Tenshodo fame (one in each of the 3 starting cities).

San d'Oria - This is the most risky but also offers the greatest amount of fame (risk/reward at it's very best ^^). Basically you speak to a guy in one of the Warehouses in Port San d'Oria. He asks you to smuggle some Tenshodo Supplies (Key item) into Jeuno. You travel on the airship to Jeuno and when passing through customs you will get a message informing you if you made it past with the smuggled items or not. If you get through you deliver goods to someone in Jeuno, then return to San d'Oria for 1000gil and fame. However, if you fail to pass customs, you will have your airship pass revoked for a period of time (unsure how long). Probably not worth it.

Bastok - this is what I did. A guy in one of the Warehouses in Port Bastok asks for deliveries of Zinc Ore (4 at a time). Like I said this is how I raised my fame and spent a weekend buyingg up Zinc Ore for the best prices. You can also mine it in Yughott Grotto if you like. I think you need to complete the quest 25-30 times to raise enough fame.

Windurst - Possibly the easiest quest to do but also offers the lowest fame. The infamous catburglar asks you to provide her with Yagudo Bead Necklaces. The best way to do this is sub THF, and tear your way through Giddeus filling your inventory returning to Windurst to hand them in, then repeat. Probably cheapest method (you will actually make mooney doing it this way) but obviously more time consuming.

Also, you don't have to keep travelling to Norg to check if you enough fame for the quest. The Mithra receptionist at Neptune's Spire (the front for Tenshodo in Jeuno) sells Rice Balls. When the price of Rice Balls is 153 gil, you have enough fame.

                          Good luck ^^

I think Rargh should have a hidden lair in Jeuno, with a Mithra receptionist!

Alright, I'm not sure how i'm gonna go about it, it seems either will take longer than hunting sheep and selling sheep wool (my current farming technique) I've decided I will level ninja to 12 at some point (I want to sub it when I level thief from 20 onwards for dual wield : D) I still don;t intend to use the ninjutsu though.
