First {sky} party and was mightily impressed.

3 WAR/nin, SMN, RDM and NIN just running around the The Shrine of Ru'Avitau chaining decorative weapons. Sadly we never had the speed of kill to go beyond chain 5 but we always hit 5 for between 250-300 EXP peaked at Chain#5 346EXP but that was with Empress Band).

Used my Haubergeon and O.Kote (so happy I bought these during my timeout) and held my own against the WAR in terms of melee damage (thanks in part to Suppanomimi no doubt) but probably a bit behind on WS. Jin was really fluctuating (mostly due to accuracy issues) but did hit an impressive 746 dmg which is the highest it's ever landed for me on an IT before (and without a BRD no less). Definately need a couple more DD pieces for such PTs. I'm thinking Chivalrous Chain, Pahluwan pants and Muscle Belt.

10k EXP to 73 I'd be 73 now if I hadn't of died so much recently.

Sorry about not being on last night folks, I know ENM's were discussed on Friday. I had planned to be on but having been out for the whole day at the coast, I sat down with a drink at 9pm to watch the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half of the France game and prompty fell asleep ;_;

Would be up for ENM's tonight, else I will exp RDM.

Maat {Very Tough!}

A very special fight this one was and for me, perhaps my most mentally challenging (wouldn't have called it a physical challenge as I was confident I could win, but my god was I bricking myself at one point....)

The fight, lasting 2 minutes in duration began as I approached maat who was stood waiting for me in the center of the arena, fortunately I was able to start off with freeze before he engaged me. First spell relieved him of about 30% hp or so - unfortunately here's where the problem came in. Freeze was instantly followed up with elemental seal and sleep II which went unresisted, but not before he had managed to get off his Firaga III (the amount of time I had to cast sleep II meant this was unavoidable) BAM - all but 16 of my precious HPs gone in a single spell

As I often do when faced with almost certain death, I had a bit of a /panic but while he was resting I had time to come up with a new plan - Manafont + AM 2 Burst. Maat down to 40%. Fortunately the old fool decided to, for some reason, finish off my 16 hp with another round of firaga III, so I fired off my stun spell and followed up with my own firaga III. Voila - no more mr old guy

With my level cap increased, I headed off to Caedarva Mire to gain 71. I must have reached the 4,000 exp I needed in about 30 minutes as the exp was so fast there, the ranger tore through everything our thief pulled in what seemed like seconds, each mob was dead before I had chance to regain the majority of my mp. What a fantastic place and a very welcome change from Bibiki Bay.

That sounds like a top battle. My Maat fight was disappointingly easy.

Don?t worry about ENM Tal. We never did one last night as it was decided you?d be doing CoP so I never bothered trying to organise.

Boring weekend for me really, bit of farming Saturday and then started to skillup GS.

Did that all day yesterday and got it to 135 ish. :/ Harsh.

Pop'd Cancer with the skillup grp i was in but no drop for the Arondite GS. Next 3 pop's he didnt spawn.

Wedge are you around tointe? If so want to finish up them quests? Then we can get on with farmin garlic. lmk.

Going to be tricky for me tonight as my brother is staying over (and tomorrow)... mind you he's visiting for convenience for his trip to the USA so I'm not going to let it inconvenience me! If there's ENMs tonight I would really like to be involved, it's the only way I'm going to reach my targets I think.

At the weekend then, lots happened, bit of a blur. I fought uncapped Shiva for the 3rd and final time (good riddance) with Talizker and she must have known I'd never be back... despite having barblizzard on top of 27 ice resistance from gear, I got whacked for 1350 points of damage. Got my ice ring from it which is what I wanted for my own Maat attempt in the coming weeks.

Saturday, started with a manaburn party. Always brings out my competitive nature, having a tarutaru BLM of equal level in the group and an elvaan BLM one level higher, I thought I was in for a lesson in humility. No chance: Darwock - number 1 nuker, Bibiki Bay challenge 2006! lol! Even sweeter cos the taru was on melon pie+1s and I was on regular melon pies, I was beating him by around 20 on every spell (the Elvaan was like 80-100 points down for some reason). In your face to all the twats who've told me I'm using the wrong sub because rdm gives extra magic attack bonus.. does it hell (yes I have been told this!).

The rest of the day was mostly taken up by Windurst missions 7-1 & 7-2. This really sucked, I joined a group who didn't leave to go and do it until they had 12 people, inlcuding numerous people over 70. The NMs for 7-1 were no challenge whatsoever, major overkill on our part.. then our numbers turned out to be counter-productive as we had to farm keys for 7-2 - these keys only drop off a NM (2 keys per kill) with a 20 minute pop time. So we had a LOT of waiting around to do.

While doing this Rare said him & Apa were going to the shrouded maw to do 'Test Your Mite'... so when we were at 2 keys remaining to get I made my excuses and went to join them in the hunt for florid stones. That took ages, the fight itself went a bit skewiff at the end when the NM did it's AoE hate reset right before a big SATA from Apa, but we won despite the couple of deaths.. ****e drop.

Then Tobal got involved and we went to Monarch Linn for the piece-of-cake 'Bad Seed'. Seemed to be a bit trickier than previous efforts too as it was taking a long time to die. Got an average drop, which I won the lot for and I'm still not clear whether I'm supposed to distribute shares or not, think it'd be about 35K each?

On the gil front now would be a very good time to plan that BCNM60, the elemental torque has risen to 2,000,000 gil (which is ****e cos I'm trying to buy, but would be less ****e if we were also selling). Likewise, bowyer ring, lets get it done - I want to get an elemental torque, penitents rope and uggalepih pendant.. that lot will sting me for around 7 million at current rates ; ; I can get to around 3.5 million now if I sell my lower level gear (another reason for wanting to clear these CoP fights pronto) but I really need that BCNM60!

Yesterday - went to Castle Oz to hunt Daragon's BLM testimony, this was hellish as there were around 15 people on the top floor killing everything, this put pressure on us to grab mobs quickly which in turn got us in a few nasty situations with links etc. Luckily we got the testimony after 4 or 5 kills and were able to escape.

xp parties followed.. all Japanese party with the exception of me & the whm (Grimm's wife Kesira).. going to Bhaflau Thickets to fight Marids. This didn't go well as they covered the plan extensively in Japanese, but failed to make it clear to me & Kesira that Marids spawn chigoes with every TP move. I was one of 2 blms, and after the first mob/wipe they used auto-translate to tell me I was only supposed to be nuking chigoes, not touching the marid at all. It was chigoes we were making the xp off (around 100 per kill, got up to chain 9 before the wipe). Second time round, started easy and I was starting to think I was wasted as the other BLM + BLU were killing them all before my nukes landed, then they started getting harder to kill.. with the Marid at 5-10% hp the tank died.. Marid started rampaging around so I switched to AM to kill it (as did the other BLM).. AM was resisted, chigoes killed everyone. Party disbanded after 2 mobs and no kills.

Me & Kesira relocated to Bibiki Bay (sigh) to avoid wasting empress bands. Another BLM in the party so once again I got competitive, especially as he was sending me tells criticising my gear.. telling me I should have phantom earring instead of quantz etc, that dude can go back to school cos at best (with gear switches for ES) I was nuking for 150 points more than him on Stone IV, heheh! Let the damage do the talking mate ^^

Personally I?m not bothered about 35k. Split the money in 6 chunks and if participants decide they want their share send it to them. Any people that don?t want you can keep. Perhaps have them do it via /tell in game if they don?t want to post on forum.

Which reminds me, something I didn't cover - I went back into Phomiuna Aqueducts last night with a subligar party... the Mahisha still wasn't there ; ; As per usual all the other NMs were up (had a ranger).

I'm starting to think Rare was right, maybe the placeholder is a stegotaur elsewhere in the zone that's never getting killed. In which case I don't know how to approach it, need a squad willing to kill all stegotaurs on the way I guess.

Incidentally it was another ****e sub party that never got started. The whm (same one that screwed us around last time) said he'd meet us there but never left his party in Ifrit's cauldron.. we had a blue mage who was attacking IT mobs with only 3 of us in there.. also dragged aggro to us then exited the zone and didn't come back to help. Party leader (nin 40) attacked a fomor thief in lufaise meadows on the way to tavnazia and got killed. Not a single fomor fought before I had to leave, same as last time.

From what Tobal has been saying Sacrarium farming is a lot easier. There?s also the Swift Belt in there and a map quest where I think you need a Treasure Chest key. Perhaps I?ll try and get our group past Ouryu again and we can start arranging Sacrarium runs? I?d imagine it was easier getting Phomiuna runs organised in the past as we had 2 parties + extras worth of people with access it was easy to get enough people (at least 6) together to do stuff in there whereas the numbers of LS members with Sacrarium access is fewer so it kind of depends on all 6 of you being online at the same time with nothing going on at the time.

Yes there are three solo BLM fomors in the sacrarium, but there's no mahisha in there so I still favour the aqueducts lol
