Picked up marvel vs capcom 2 for xbox for under a tenner today in mint condition. For some reason this game seems to fetch high prices despite it being on 3 platforms now (i have the unparalleled dc version..... twice!). If only they'd live enabled it though. Still a kick ass game

King of monsters! I didnt realise there was a MD port of it.

Neither did I. Recently got the NeoGeo version so I was interested to see what it was like since it was only a few quid.

The MD version is OK, but the Neo does wee on it from a fairly substantial height.

Strider 2 today from some cuddly bloke on the board Never really played the Strider games before so I promise I'll play this one properly.

Ah - it was you - didn't make the connection. Told you it was in good nick though - Strider 2 ****ing rules, easily one of my faves on the PS1. Easy to play through, but lots of hidden stuff and a real replay value to top your scores and whatnot.

Less of the cuddly as well, you cheeky young pup.

Today am going against the grain a bit but should be picking up a 900-in-1 MAME gamebox that is compatible with my Supergun. I am usually totally against emulation and indeed totally unable to get them working or comprehend them but there are a few games I can no longer live without, and cannot afford or locate the PCBs. Stand up Shinobi, Shadow Over Mystera, Black Tiger, Eco Fighters, Snow Bros etc etc.

Wheelaa has probably lost all respect for me now but I solemnly promise I will never use the Gamebox for a Neo Geo game, as I intend to keep my mobo and those lovely chunky cartridges of MVS joy. And hey - it is still more than satisfying holding an actual retro game, isn't it? There is no way teh Seany is gonna stop collecting now : )

Strider 2 is indeed great fun, shockingly shoddy conversion though loads of mid level loading, dont let that put you off.

Just went and picked up me gamebox. Tried it out first - very impressive. I have not used MAME before, but the quality suprised me. I tested KOF 98 on it (I own the MVS version of this) and it seemed virtually indistiguishable. There goes my solemn promise at the first hurdle....

Can't wait to get home for some Tenchi Wu Kurai II and Dungeons & Dragons action.

Young pup? Ok, Dad! Cheers for that though man, quality goods!

Post pics please. Is this like a computer-in-a-box solution that hooks up to your Supergun/cab for 'proper' arcade gaming? Just as much fun to be had with that kind of deal though man; it's all about the gaming in my book and being naive and restricting yourself to one or the other is limiting and closed minded. Why not have the best of both worlds? Not like you're ripping anyone off.

                          Other than YOURSELF!

                          <- Please note.

I will post some pics tomorrow. Basically it is a small box (about the size of a PS1 I guess) with power lead, keyboard/usb/supergun joystick port and on/off switch, it has a JAMMA connection on the front and it can be directly connected to the Supergun. It is a PC in a box, yes - containing MAME and 900 games, but it is arcade machine/'Gun ready. I cannot wait to get home, there are loads of games I want to play - woohoo!

If you want a list of the games to peruse then PM me!
