Strange when considering so many PCE ports were magnificent. Galaga 88 remains one of my fave games of all time. Problem with this thread is it makes me want to re purchase all my old kit...... :/
PCE Shinobi is far from perfect, but it's better than the Master System version, which was my previous domestic fave

The MD and GG/MS versions are completely different. The GG/MS one is viewed from behind the car, Outrun-style, but the MD one is first person.

I bought a pretty good buy today. A local store was selling off their Mega Drive stock so I bought the lot in a deal. It cost me 13'000 yen (100 pounds) for 50 Mega Drive games and a Mega Drive (I don't need that). Half of them I don't want so I'll sell them on but the half I did want are mostly BRAND NEW!!! Can you believe that. Brand New Mega Drive games in this day and age!! I'm well happy with my buy. But the icing on the cake is that Alisia Dragoon and Aleste are in the set. Those two alone are worth 6000 to 7000 yen in Japan.

            Stuff I'm keeping are:

            Golden Axe II
            Darius
            Virtua Racing
            Super Street Fighter II Championship
            Valis
            Out Run
            Doraemon
XDR (Complete **** but I must have it)
            Quackshot
            World of Illusion
            Verytex
            Marvel Land
            Phelious
            Bare Knuckle II
            Tiger Heli
            Arcus Oddessy
            Whip Rush
Altered Beast (How can you not have this in a Mega Drive collection)
Super Shinobi (The version with Batman, Spider-man, Rambo and Godzilla)
            Castle of Illusion
            Fatal Fury 2
            Alisia Dragoon
            Atomic Robokid
            Aleste
            Vapour Trail
            Dangerous Seed
            Fist of the North Star
            Task Force EX

There are some good games in the set I don't want such as Strider but they either have faded spines or just not good enough condition.

Lovely looking bulk buy, grats on getting the NIB stuff particularly Aleste and Alisia Dragoon.

I could never live in Japan, all the money i've saved over the years would rapidly dwindle! Walking in to one of those massive retro superstores would be brilliant mind you.

It's pretty depressing really, no such stores here..

Thanks guys. Yeah, the retro super stores really do kick arse but I really do love looking around small indie game shops. They ways have a fantastic retro selection plus you can sometime get great deals like that Mega Drive set above.

too right - with the disapearance of GAME, all we have in Belfast is a cash convertors/HMV and the supermarkets to buy games....thankfully I done and dusted most retro formats, although I do miss my laseractive.

I swear you just started this thread back in 2005 just to show off all the cool stuff you're able to pick up that we cant!

That last lot is a great find and a real treat for you, make sure you play them all!

I don't do retro too often, and I had a Mega Drive at the time of the 16-Bit battle, but all this SNES talk made me want to play it a bit. I bought a SNES about 5 years ago, but never really used it. I got the whole lot (including JP/US converter, turbo pad and a few games) for a few quid as there was no plug. I put a new one on (?1!) and just tested it worked, really.

Well, I set it up and tested the SCART cable Nakamura suggested I buy and it works great! I also picked up Cybernator from some suggestions in the webchat for ?2.

The games I now own are:
                          Cybernator
                          Jurassic Park
                          Super Castlevania IV
                          Final Fight JP
                          Parodius JP
                          Street Fighter II

I fancy picking up a couple of shooters and it's pretty criminal I don't have any Mario games yet!

Really good start QC, I also really like Jurassic Park.

I've been waiting to thank you in the webchat, but you've not been in!

Thanks for your help, and I'll try and take a pic of my setup over the weekend for that thread.

I went to XElectrical in Croydon a couple of years ago and walked out with a bag full of minty Master System stuff and some cheap Saturn games for just over ?10. It closed down before I had an opportunity to go back. Some of the videos I see of places like Hard Off make me wish that there were places here where you could pick up a CRT in good condition and an AES as a matter of course on a Saturday afternoon.
