I found a couple of G&W's before. But they were unboxed and looked like they had been used to play Football or something, nothing like the one Adam picked up. Anyway...

A sealed Origins for $30 AUD
    Complete Bust-a-Groove for $25 AUD
and a rather expensive FF9 at $50 AUD, pricey, but considering what they are begining to go for, I thought it would be best to pick up a copy now.

Mature 15+ rating for FFIX? Christ, they are sensitive over there...

They are indeed. People complained about Manhunt 2 not getting a rating to begin with here but in Oz-Land they refuse to classify games all the time.

Right. I need a bit of help so I thought it was only fair I put a little bit of what I have picked up recently on here.

Nice boxed Mega Drive II - all bagged up etc

And then a bundle of stuff (I didn't bother putting the leads in - we all know what they look like by now don't we!?)

Those are the games anyway. I also got a 32x and a Mega Drive I with it. Th

Now here's where I need help.

There are three 'NTSC' (use the term loosely here) games - this is the cart from Toy Story. Is this a fake or what? There's no way it's official.

And this is the Mega Drive. I haven't seen a PAL one which looks like this (it says PAL on the back of the machine); i.e. with the purple front. It also plays Genesis games. Was the Mega Drive able to play multi region? Is this console chipped? Anyway, I'm sure one of you knows.

Let me know if you know anything

The 32X will fetch a pretty penny on eBay, matey. How much did all that cost, BTW? SOR3, Shining Force and Landstalker are all worth a bit, too.

The console is an Asian PAL one, I believe.

Oh, and that Toy Story is faker than Jodie Marsh's tan.

its an asian pal megadrive, should play most games you throw at it.

what he said the quick typing feck. Should play chip locked games n all, albeit in 50hz/bordered.

Out of interest what is an asian pal MD worth? I'll keep it if it can play everything I throw at it though.

And thanks to both of you. I thought they were fakes - how are they made out of interest? Throw them in the bin lol?! Or are they of use to anyone?

The boxed MD was £4 at a boot sale. The rest was for £45

All megadrives seem to be worth the same as far as I've seen so it's not valuable.

You'd be better off modding that Asian Genesis, either for your own use or to enhance its value if sold on. Since the Asian one is region free you'd only need to do half of the mod and you could also get away with hard-wiring it in instead of adding a switch, so it's always in 60hz mode. I used the guide at www.mmmonkey.co.uk.

I've got an Asian Megadrive exactly like that one and it wouldn't play a fair number of the games I tried on it. I think a Japanese Contra was the first thing that refused to work. I got a friend to put in region and hz switches and it play everything now. I wouldn't hard wire it to 60hz unless you're planning to never play any PAL games. Quite few PAL games run too fast in 60hz, like Alien Soldier.

                        Fantastic haul teenagewasteland!
Youll find that your Spot Goes To Hollywood is also a bootleg (judging by the cover at least) like the Toy Story.
However, id be pleased with those finds! The bootlegs are always nice finds, for all you know they can be slight variants to the commercial release! Depends what your collecting I guess!

Did you get a 32X with it or just the games?

As for what Pilotwings said, i wouldnt really agree... The Asian MDs have a few benefits over the PAL release (obviously the widened slot) and quite obviously cant be found as easy as the Regular PAL releases.
Id say its not worth a fortune, but definately more than the standard one!

As MattyD said, id highly recommend you follow the mmmonkey guide or get' chaoticjelly james die hard solder boy' to get to work on it!

Once you go 60hz, you never go back...

                        Comment

Spot, Toy Story and EWJ2 are all bootlegs. I'll have to decide whether to get rid of them somehow or keep them in the collection.

The 32x came with it - it has all the plates etc etc. I just saw little point in taking a photo of a pile of leads and metal. The 32x is just a PAL console so I didn't see too much point in taking a pic (I only post pics of stuff which I feel is interesting or I haven't a clue about!) It's my second 32x - I have a nice one bagged up which I got a year back so I may use this one to actually play. That said, I don't rate the 32x very highly when compared to consoles of the same gen. The 32x games will also go into my small collection of 32x games.

Putting a switch in seems the better idea so it could swap regions. I may consider doing it or having it done; will have a look at the guides I have been directed to - thanks MattyD.

Yeah, the 32x was a bit meh. The games go for silly prices on eBay, but so does everything else nowadays I guess Anyway, here's my back bedroom that's starting to look more and more like Super Potato every day:

The PS2 and PAL XBox are both sealed, the Jp XBox is new/ unused (bundle games still sealed), but I don't think it ever had a seal on it, as a lot of Japanese stuff doesn't. Same scenario with the Virtual Boy. On top of the PAL Xbox is a new Jp clear red N64 controller and in front, a new Green UK one.
The only reason there's two clear red N64's is because the box was damaged on the first one I got (no original controller either), so I thought I'd replace it (although I never got round to selling the damaged one).

There's a used Jp original N64 (ready for RGB mod) on top of those two, and a Gold controller PAL edition N64 on top of that (unused but opened).
The PAL SNES is new (Aussie edition from 1995), NTSC SNES is also new and from around the same time (still has its Wal Mart receipt from the original seller).
What else, an Asian PAL MDII (unmodified), and an Aladdin sleeve UK PAL MDII under that. On top of the PS2 is a Gamecube MODEM, Super Gameboy 2, GB Pocket camera, SFC Memory Cassette, and a Virtual Boy AC Adapter Tap. Phew!

Here's my weird 20 inch Sony (widescreen), that has a built-in subwoofer:

It sound like an arcade cabinet when I play something noisy like Super Aleste on it, although it's not really suited to retro gaming due to the screen format (doesn't cut that much off in Zoom2 mode, but the 4:3 mode is way too small unfortunately).
