I've got my eye on one of these- is it worth getting? I think I'll probably just cave and get it anyway, it is mint and I get paid on Friday...

Another one to add to my burgeoning Saturn collection. Got Battle Garegga (utterly uber-mint condition), DoDonPachi, DonPachi, Souky and Batsugun in the past couple of weeks. Loving the Saturn so far, don't know why I hesistated buying one for so long.

I have a friend who is a massive SSP fan and he hates Bubble Symphony...

Agree about Hit-Japan, like most internet sellers hasn't got a clue about grading condition.

Dunno... I've had As, Bs and Cs off him and I can see the difference between them. But I've only ever bought cart based items from him, no CD/DVD. Totally reliable and quick though.

I really like it. I've admittedly not played it in great depth, but it seems to be a solid update to Bubble Bobble. It's really just more of the same, but it looks a lot nicer, has multiple routes and characters and more bosses and enemy types.

If you do get it, it's worth checking out the FAQ on GameFAQs, as there's a hidden menu that lets you set the game to English.

How is the sound in your renny blaster? I bought that a while ago and mine sometimes has scratchy sound during some of the cut scenes, I was told it's normal though. (Mine doesn't have the spine or mail away card unfortunately, you lucky sod!!)
            Cheers
Can't say I've noticed a scratchy sound tbh, but I've yet to play it too much. It is really hard to find spined (like lots of pce scds sadly) and took me ages. Still, I maybe have a sealed copy on the way too

Cool- I think that's just swayed me, oh my aching credit card.

                  Why?

Please explain. The whole New Zealand Story thing has passed me by. Why is it so good?

Because it has a cute yellow bird in a hot airbaloon.

It's the same appeal as dressing cats in page boy outfits.

                      exactly..no appeal whatsoever...

That meant I really like it

It has a whale too. Whales are good.

                          One of Taito's best imho.

Nah, play Mizubaku Daibouken instead, thats the good stuff

I never managed to get hold of the Saturn version of it unfortunately, just the PCE one

I love New Zealand Story... it has a pikey Walrus for a villain, ffs.

Wasted so many hours of my youth in the arcades... and, like so many deceptively cutesy games, is rock-fuggin-hard.

New Zealand story is from a time when games could be stupidly cute and still kick ass. Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands are other examples, but people tend to forget about NZS. I suppose from a gameplay point of view it's the weakest of the three, but how many games give you the chance to play the role of a pissed off kiwi with bow-and-arrow?

                                Exactly.
