Yakumo --> the reason why they take ages to save is because of the use of an External memory card and lesser RAM probably

What the hell is wrong with X3? Well besides it being a cheap port, it was also one of the weaker MMX games in general. I found MMX 1 and 2 to be much, much better myself.

yup, saturn's internal save ram is lightning compared to other console's memory cards, but then that's a given. mind you, the trouble starts when you HAVE to get a memory card

        i don't know, X3 had a pretty cool soundtrack.

Yep, I'd rather not use one myself. I don't like those 3rd party things with its inability to direct save and I get the feeling they damage the slot. I only use the 4MB and sometimes 1MB. I might look for an official memory cart though.. to store saves just in case.

The saturn has enough save space (basically more than the Ps1 memorycard... lol).. until you find out VF2 makes a big ass savegame everytime and RPG's like Shining force take about 70%.

Someone should devise a way to add more internal ram. Or perhaps I'm living in dream land, not technically minded.

What I do with my Saturn is once I've finished a game I back up the save to all 4 of my Memory cards. Way all four you ask. Well because in the past I've had my Saturn's delete a whole memory card because it wasn't inserted right which is so easy to do thanks to the finicky cartridge slot. So that's why I keep multiple back ups and only save directly to the machines save ram. By the way, The Saturn still saves lightening fast even if you direct save to the memory cards.

lol vf2 nabs 192k i think, and nights' A-life takes around the same. i tend to delete the a-life file after it's been created as it frees up space for other stuff, and i don't really care how many nightopians are tumbling about in the levels, although you do lose out on the morphing music.

Japanese Saturns don't play US games. They only play Japanese games or the odd game that has no lock out such as PAL Virtual Racing or Christmas Nights.

Yes, US NiGHTS is region free. I have no idea about other copies of NiGHTS though.

wow i didn't know that (bears it in mind for when he sells his US nights...). i've got the US, UK and JAP versions but currently no saturn with which to test them on so couldn't vouch for the UK/US versions...
