Remember they used Robbie Williams to promote the dreamcast with some possibly spastic (perhaps he just wore glasses) kid throwing a stone like a girl. I'd already pre-ordered by this point.

Remember most big hitting Saturn games are in mame, the only true quality is in the exclusives . Same goes for most consoles imo.

The system exclusives are what sell me the consoles the saturn had a quite a few.


I do remember thought it being mentioned that being mentioned that the saturn was no good at 3d and i have to say only when it came to playstation conversions (which i really think they did not put that much effort into them)

With the saturn exclusives like the panzer dragoon series or radiant silvergun i think it did 3d as well as any psone game

I'm so tempted to buy Jushin's white saturn in the selling section, but I dont see any software I want to play.

the 3d games will just look like crap, I'm not into shooters that much, and I have an MVS so I don't see the point of buying KOF's/metal slug, etc.

someone suggest something, outrun would be cool I spose, modded xbox though.

maybe my quest to own a white saturn will never be..

can you use rgb scart cables on the white one too? my tv's don't accept NTSC through composite, only the scart connector.

prikura daisakusen, excellent isometric platform/ shooter hybrid.

You should try some shooters, personally when i first bought the saturn i wasn't much into shooters, i bought it mainly for the fighters but after a while the saturn made me love shooters. Tons of quality games on the saturn are shooters, so you should track down a few and give them a try, go for the parodius's and game paradise they are not your everyday conventional shooter so they would be enjoyable to even those who are not into shooters. Really if you ignore the shooters you'd be missing out on a pretty large chunk of what the saturn has to offer, but like i said give them a try you might end up liking them.

The capcom fighters are a must, marvel v sf, xmen v sf, sf alpha 3, sf collection, pocket fighters, vampire saviour, vampire hunter and marvel super heroes. I'd also recommend these:

-goove on fight
-astal
-bubble symphony
-nights
-fighter megamix
-guardian heroes
-puzzzle bobble 2 (if you can find the double pack with space invaders get that)
-saturn bomberman


regarding the RGB scart you can use them on any saturn, go for the ones at VGI they always make the best RGB scarts whatever the console

Not all the 3D games look crap, the games that's used the high res graphic's engine put the Playstation to shame. Just look at shots of Athelete Kings, Virtua Fighter 2 and Last Bronx, even Virtua Cop 1 looks ace.

There are plenty of great games that aren't shooters or one on one fighters, but the question is what genre's do you like to play.

There's a truck load of RPG's and plenty of great games for all the other genre's.

That's not true mate, I use various UK Scart leads on my JPN White Saturn.

You cannot, however, use a Japanese RGB cable on a UK TV as the pinouts are different (that's the difference between Japanese RGB and Euro Scart).

No...

So why the big fuss over the Saturn then ? .
Ok now its looks poor apart from the likes of Decathlete (still looks stunning even now), Last Bronx, VF II, RSG, DOA , Zwei and VC II but at the time games that used the Hardware had 3D up there with the best the PS could offer.
Like I keep reading from NCL fans its not graphics that make a game but gamplay , which the Saturn had in spades
