Cool still, but i'd rather do HTH than any of its reincarnations these days.
Definitely, far far better than Tecmo World Cup/Euro Cup, which was the rather low benchmark of the day. It's just a shame the SNES version lacks the pass/shoot buffering.

I couldn't agree more , its one of the best Arcade games I had to pleasure to play , and a nice game of football in own right , just pure and utter fun . I loved the simply silly little touches, like the celerbrations (running in to the crowds), knocking the Ref or Camera man over .
At the time I was praying for a Mega CD port , given its scaling hardware

Nope. Composite, RF, and S-Video only without a rather involved hardware mod (you basically have to build a complete video output section).

Is there no 3DO that can do it out of the box then? Disappointing. Guess I'll have to put up with it when I get a FZ-1 but I really don't like red creep on my pixels.

The only other model is the Sanyo, but I don't think that can do it either. I wonder if 3do was perhaps a little too US centric in designing it, as back then virtually no American TV's had RGB input despite them being rather common in Europe and Japan.

I forgot, there is the FZ-10 too, but that definitely can't.

I managed to get a copy of Alien vs Predator for the Atari Jaguar. Although time has not been kind to the graphics, the game is very tense and has more atmosphere in it than a lot of current gen games.

Playing the game from the three different viewpoints is genius, with the marine playing more like a trad fps, the predator playing for honour and the alien's unique ability to hatch extra "lives".

The sound is brilliant with some moody effects and the predators trademark noise bringing panic and frenzied running away!

A quick game last night turned into a couple of hours. I'm absolutely rubbish at the game at the moment, but it's the best game I'v played on the machine so far.

I really loved AvP on the PC. Playing as the marine with 3D sound on headphones and the light off. It's a laugh

i had it AVP years ago on my jag, and although for the time its was good, it was flat! and with doom on the system, having steps, obsticals and ramps etc, basically a more 3D environment kinda made it look inadequate. it could have been so much more.

the PC version was much better.

Back in the day i bought a 3do on launch day, bought absolutely everything that came out for it on pal while i had it and absolutely loved it. Managed to pick up a US NTSC boxed and mint machine last year for £50. It came with a pal space hulk, and cdr's of pretty much ALL the good games. Bought slam'n'jam new and sealed from ebay a couple of weeks back as i had fond memories. It's still absolutely brilliant to play. Now i'm going to start replacing those cdr's with genuine copies of the titles, but still undecided which region i want to go for. I like my stuff jap, but pal or US would still be cool. Oh, and i finally managed to get the cool official 3do stick, i'm hoping it'll turn up tomorrow so i can try it out on the beat 'em ups!
