Wonder how much full sets of famicom mini go for nowdays?, even if you got them at their RRP of ?10 that still makes it ?300 for all 3 series. If you add to that the club n boxes then it's quite a chunk of change.

Also if your going for the full mini collecting spree theres this too

Ha! Thanks for kind words chaps. Already have the famicom micro and famicom sp, although the sp is for sale as it has a couple of marks on the lid and id prefer a brand new, or at the very least mint one. Like a knob, i sold the a brand new famicom sp last year! Doh! I would like a limited famicom sp if i can find one for a nice price, also the famicom mini 'pad 2' faceplate would be nice. Did Nintendo publish a book marking the fami's 20th? It would make a nice companion to the collection.

There was a special Mario soundtrack CD in Nintendo World magazine.

I picked mine up a while back in the play asia sale, and was just playing with it yesterday.

Of all the consoles I've ever owned, this one just says "Instant Classic", I'm taking great care of it, and really do think it is a thing of beauty.

Normally old games are on interest for playing, but the Famicom Mini just feels like a piece of art to me.

Congrats on your fantatic collection. Did you have to pay a lot over ?500?

I recall I bought all 30 games from PlayAsia with the affiliate 15% off... I think I paid about 30 quid each for the cases from Dave (Japan Games?).

Nope, but there is a rather spiffy book that accompanied the Famicom 20th anniversary exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum Of Photography. It shows all of the games released and his some good interviews, with the likes of Shigeru Miyamoto.

There was also Fami-Complete, which was two volumes and showed the box artwork, game cart and screenshot(s) for all of the cart and disc system games officially released ... it's also awesome for Famicom fans!

You can see some pictures of it here:

I remember when the 20th anniversary occured there was lots of cool merchandise that came out. In addition to the books I've mentioned, I picked up a Japanese DVD that had loads of game clips on it, and there was also a commemerative issue of Famitsu that had a nice Famicom history.

You can get the exhibition book from amazon japan as they send books to the uk. Not sure if its still in stock but it's worth a look.

As for famicomplete, that book has turned to gold dust, very hard to get hold of & when it does surface expect to pay around ?40+ for it.

Quick question about the limited famicom gba sp. As i understand it the limited version had a run of 1000 units initially, which were only avalible from club nintendo jp? Then a further run of 2000 retail units, is that correct? Cheers!
