Just watched a youtube vid of the e reader content.

So much stuff! even has the key carrying from Super Mario World and the ground digging from SMB 2.

Was there any extra levels with just the base US/JPN game (no e reader)?

Making a serious effort to get through Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It gets so bloody hard towards the end though. I keep getting murdered by those star things that fire arrows in five different directions. So frustrating.

Turned the Ps2 on earlier for a bash on Destruction Derby 2, game is boss I wish to Jebus himself that Psygnosis still went on like Celine Dion's heart.

Also cracked on Ray Crisis & Castlevania Chronicles, badassin.

Finally beat Sonic the Hedgehog 2!

Why does nobody talk up the difficulty of this game!? I mean, three final bosses, three! it's not like they're a walk in the park either as you have no coins meaning you have to have the reflexes of a cat to get past them. Hardest one by far is Robotnik in the robot suit where you have to time your jumps with his walking.

Anyone beat the first Sonic the Hedgehog here? thinking of giving that a go soon but I might give it a miss if it's harder than 2.

I think it's easier than 2. You should watch the Game Centre CX episode where Arino plays it. Pretty funny.

Will check that episode out, Mr Hat, and report back.

I remember the first being pretty hard (no 'hold to dash') but hopefully beating the second will give me a bit of an advantage.

Should mention I also tried a bit of Super Thunder Blade. Shocking game. Feels like a poor mans Space Harrier.

Decided to hold off on Yoshi's Island and play Castlevania instead. Again, on GBA. Just finished it. It's got to be one of the best 'hard games' ever. It's really well designed and it's obvious that the stage layout and enemy placement has been methodically planned to be difficult but beatable with the right skills, unlike another game I could mention COUGHSIMON'SQUESTCOUGH.

Play the version on Sonic Jam if you want the speed boost.

I've been playing The Ninja and Monster World II The Dragons Trap on the Master System. MWII hasn't lost its appeal even after all these years. One of the best game of the era.

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (on Xbox Live but by dictionary definition that is Retro?)

I originally downloaded the free trial on Xbox Live while I waited for SSF4:AE to come through the post having never tried the franchise but having spent some time with both games now I actually think 3rd Strike is the better game? The characters are better in 3rd Strike, the Arenas are more interesting, better designed and more grown-up. I'd really love Street Fighter 5 to embrace this style as opposed to the more action-movie-ish SSF4 (which seems to be a continuation of SSF2?).

Thinking of giving Mega Man 9 or 10 a go soon having never tried that franchise either. Not sure which of those is best (easiest) though?

                            Long time, no see Pikate

I'd almost say, fire up an NES emulator, played Mega Man 2 and/or 3, and see if that style of gameplay is for you first. Both 9 and 10 are reasonably tricky, so if you like a challenge, that's definitely up your street. The usual Mega Man elements are present, including each boss generally having a weakness for one particular collectable weapon, catchy music, frustrating jumps, and respawning enemies in parts should you scroll back.

Yeah, I got a boyfriend and we started doing "cool" things like going to gigs and taking trips to London and using Instagram so gaming went out the window for me but before Christmas we broke up and I got an X360 so now I'm back to playing platform games (Rayman Origins instead of Mario now though) until 3AM, showering every other day and finding bits of "Prawn Cocktail Pom-Bear Snack" in my hair <3

I really want to try a Mega Man though because that Mega Man x Street Fighter thing looks glorious but I can't play it on a Mac (hopefully it'll come to Xbox Live though, maybe the same week as Shenmue HD and Rayman Legends gets a 360 port :/) and I think I'd rather play Mega Man 9 or 10 on my big TV than go for the originals in an emulator graphically they all look the same which is the point? Does anyone know if either 9 or 10 have a snow level? I'm really into them right now for some reason :S

When did Instagram get cool? I always thought it was just a cheap application to make todays apathetic kids think their pictures are good because it applies a visually appealing colour filter on them, when in reality it only cheapens the art and profession of real photography. /offtopic
