And what about Mother 1+2, or Mother 3?

King of swing should be removed and Aria should be in its place surley?

Also is the list in order of goodness, or is it just the 10 best in no particular order?
It's order of goodness, but we can sort that out once we've got the definitive 10. I was thinking we probably shouldn't have more than one game from the same series, or maybe even genre cos we've got such little space. So Aria should probably replace Circle of the Moon, but I don't want to! Why is it so much better?

        Yoshi's Island
Best platformer released on the GBA. Tons of fun and great for those of us who didn't have enough money to buy the original SNES one at the time. Wonderfully colourful and cute graphics top it off.

The level design in Aria is on a par with Symphony of the night. Its one the best looking GBA games full stop. The soul system was first introduced in it, and while its been used since, it was best utilised here and added alot more depth to the combat over circle of moon I feel.

I just feel its easily the best hand held castlevania game and the one ive certainly played the most times.

Edit: Oh yeah, Aria Of Sorrow has better music than Circle Of Moon too.

Hmmm well this I might have to disagree with. Same goes for SMW at the top too... Surely this list should be GBA originals.

I really enjoyed Final Fight One, still the best conversion of the arcade! The extra dialogue and alpha versions of Guy and Cody make it even better. Aside from that, another vote for Mario Kart Super Circuit and Advance Wars.

Do we really need to include conversions of SNES games in this though? I think it might make more sense to just keep it to GBA exclusives.

Alright, as miffed as I am at having to take off SMW, I think it would be stupid to have SNES ports if you think about it, since really, they would take up most of the top ten. Also switched CotM for Aria of Sorrow. But one day I will play AoS, and if it isn't better than CotM, then God help me, I'm gonna bust a nut.

*Arghhgghh that means no Mother either. Daaamn

I agree with the no Snes ports rule UNLESS it happens to be an arcade port that happened to on the Snes i.e. Final Fight.

No chance! (though I did like them both). Coloris is the answer you're looking for.

Not sure anyone could argue a case for Link to the Past missing out over Minish Cap. Four Swords was just lovely, too - I remember playing this 4-player on a late night, hour-long train home, wires slotted through to the seats in front, after visiting the GameStars show in London a few years ago. Great fun.

Another shout for Yoshi's Island, too. It has an extra (extremely difficult, but ingenuous) set of stages not found in the SFC version. I'm not a fan of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, either. Wouldn't have that one.

                      Other essential suggestions:

                      Rhythm Tengoku
                      Astro Boy
                      Kuru Kuru Kururin / Paradise
F-Zero: GP Legend - best of the 3 GBA F-Zero's
                      Gradius Generation
Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper - Amazing conversion - pisses over SSFX 'Revival'

Agree with most of that but it isn't the best conversion. It's better than the SNES and Mega CD versions, but not as good as the Sharp X68000 version, though (which IS basically the coin-op).

That said, I'd put it up there with Mario Kart: Super Circuit (Stays the truest to the ethos of the SNES original) and Metroid Fusion. I'd also put Ninja Cop/Ninja 5-0 in there (Brilliant Shinobi-style arcade action) and Double Dragon Advance in there as well - an excellent, anime-influenced adaptation (and probably the best ever pound-for-pound conversion) of a true gaming classic. I would argue that Double Dragon Advance does for the original what Space Invaders Extreme on the DS did for its famous forefather. I've also got to throw F-Zero Advance/Terminal Velocity in there as well - just as tough a one-player game as the SNES, GC & N64 versions, arguably tougher and excellent as a multiplayer game in single or multi-cart mode. Gradius Generations is also worth a shout, too.

For some reason known only to Capcom's testers, the JAP version of Turbo Revival doesn't have any glitches. That said, I would argue that the game's severe lack of difficulty hinders it more.

Hard to disagree with this - I always think that the game should've contained Turbo Revival's Easy Operation mode for the special moves. That said, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper still deserves a special mention, simply for the technical excellence achieved by Crawfish Interactive in producing a quality port for the GBA.

                        Phew!

Gradius ffs! A/the top ten must include a shooter surely? Oh and Metal Slug advance.

Is gradius the best one then? Only gotten into the gradius series very recently. Now that I think of it, I don't think I've played any shooters on the gba. The r type port is supposed to be **** isn't it? Anyway, it's a snes game so it doesn't count anyway.
As far as talk of street fighter, final fight etc goes, I think there's only room for one of them, and since I don't know anything about fighters, you're gonna have to, ahem, fight it out amongst yourselves and agree on one all time classic.

'Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga' has to go in, likewise 'Warioware: Twisted'.
