    Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie

This is up there with Axelay as one of the machine's best shooter's. Awesome visuals, excellent sound, exciting gameplay, this game has it all.

It's also one of those AAA games that shows what the SNES could do in the right hands. Like Axelay, it's a game that MegaDrive & PC-Engine fans can fully respect. It only received a Japanese release, but.. I managed to buy it 'cart only' for ?7 a couple of years back. A must-have for shooter fans.

I hope that's not an energy bar in the corner!

Yep, it's an energy bar. Your craft can transform as you play(three different choices) Also, there are plenty of power ups to boost your firepower.

They're the bane of all evil in a shooter! I find they work quite well in versus fighters though

Only heard of this game recently, looks pretty decent, haven't managed to get myself a copy yet.

                Phalanx:

Apparently it's on the GBA too, but the snes version has an extra difficulty setting:

                American boxart looks awesome:

                xD

It's a pretty good game on the Snes. I have a US cart and always have a chuckle at the pic on it. I remember seeing an ad for it in a copy of EGM in the nineties and was fascinated by the image of the old hick dude!

Yep, was definitely a curious choice of box-art.

I've never thought much of the game. Maybe I should give it another go? .. Was probably spoilt with Axelay, Area88, Parodius etc...

Anyway, another shooter that I like quite a bit is Bio Metal.

*BEWARE* ... The US & PAL versions have terrible music. ... It's all euro techno rubbish - and spoils the game.

The Japanese version has excellent[proper shooter music] that really adds to the atmosphere.

The visuals are really good. Big sprites, lots of effects, and it all moves really fast. Probably a tough game; I can't remember?

I used to enjoy my SNES but like my video game habit it is all coming to an end. So the sale begins as I can't be bothered shifting this stuff around all the time I move for it just to remain in boxes.

Many memories though, the streetfighter 2 drunken nights when I was 18, Super Mario World, Mario Kart, numerous other shooters and platformers.

                      Good Bye old friend.

Was bored at work today so started working on a list for SNES/SFC releases across all regions, not too sure how complete the list is i got the information from this site:

and the list from the complete pal list thread:

Still need to do some tidying up, i think some titles are listed twice (not sure if it's a mistake or there are two of those games so i left them), the JPN list needs to be tidied up, and hopefully when i have the time i'll add the Japanese text for relevant titles.
File is here to download: http://members.lycos.co.uk/bousourok...FCLISTv.1.xlsx

If u need me to save it as an older version of excel i can try and figure out how to do that.

I liked that song. Hated stuff like that in games, though.
