Love love truck turned up so far, it's been sat for 23 years imprisoned in it's shrinkwrap but i take great pleasure in freeing any sealed game i buy. It's one less that the dickheads online can't slap in a grading case to forever be unplayed with a stupid price tag, it's been patiently waiting 23 years for someone to finally open & enjoy it.

Be free little game, shed your plastic prison.

Call it immature, but the rarer the sealed game the more pleasure i get in opening them up. one less for the sealed collectors to try & hoard

Keeping games sealed solely for the purposes of "collecting" should be classified as some kind of mental illness.

But then you'd really have to class any kind of collecting that involves buying things just to put them on a shelf as a mental illness. Different people like different things.

Realistically you can play any retro game without having it on a shelf anyway. Collecting things is fine!

*he says, gazing nervously at his cardboard boxes full of games and films collected throughout his life that realistically he never plays or watches*

Collecting things is fine, but entombing sealed games (particularly uncommon ones!) is no good. Free them!

              Anyway.

God damn I love that Front Mission cover. Amano could sell me on pretty much anything.

That Front Mission cover is just so cool.

Also, I really like Konami Krazy Racers. It's an underrated game.

lol as much as we joke, some of the ps1 titles i have unsealed stuff like zanac x zanac & mirano's arubeito collection would genuinely upset some online as in me opening them i took a lot of the value off them with mirano literally hundreds. I don't care if it's the last sealed copy on the planet if i end up buying it i don't give one damn about keeping it sealed. If i'm paying a crapload of money for a game it's because i'm going to play them, even love love truck has been completed, i finished it last night but it's an arcade style game so each full playthrough is only like 30 mins but the levels have a ton of different routes so it has a lot of replay. I get through games like air.

Todays arrival was finally nainai no meitantei, god knows where it's been but least it eventually turned up. That's this evening weirdness for gaming taken care of. Just waiting for payday tomorrow so i can finally order the game i have been searching 2+ years for.

On another note i need to order more ps1 case protectors in both sizes as i have now officially run out.

Well payday is here and i have had to dig deep for this one but it's right at the top of my most wanted list, since before the pandemic i have been looking for a mint copy of Tokyo wakusei planetokio, only one copy has ever popped up on ebay over the last 2 years and that copy was pretty rough as one out of the 3 disks was scratched up so there was no way i was gonna get it.

Fast forward to today i have been scouring amazon japan frequently in hopes that someone would had offloaded a new sealed copy there's been some overpriced used ones in janky condition, but finally my luck was in as not one but 2 finally popped up. Been patiently waiting till payday and hoping nobody grabbed it before i could pay for it. One was sealed but it had sun damage and the other was sealed & is in what they described it as beautiful condition from the pics i have to agree. While not super rare it's an extremely hard to find title in decent condition let alone new, yahoo auctions have a couple every so often and so does mercari but same problem they are not pristine & with 3 disks i'm not taking the risk when it's a 10,000+ yen game for even a used copy.

This one painfully set me back 28,000 yen but it's pretty much pristine, thankfully youtubers haven't been able to manage to ruin this one like the developers previous other game which was LSD, that one is now way beyond what i can afford.

Now i just wait & hope i don't hear back from the seller saying they don't have it in stock, sometimes it happens on marketplace stuff. Sometime amazon japans marketplace can uncover some total treasure

Just watched some video of it on YouTube, seems like a really interesting game. Does look absolutely pristine too.

It's got a very strange visual style that i totally adore, love the floating futuristic island of japan as the setting. there's a lot of rendered sequences which is why it's over 3 disks. There's one game called planet DOB that shares the same idea of a really unique visually stylistic future.

Would have been pretty funny if it had a CD-R of FIFA 96 in it…..

You sick sick man, hell will freeze over before a copy of chav casino ever gets into my collection. But yeah there's always that risk that someone did a stellar reseal job, which is why it's always prudent to open everything. There's probably people out there that have spent thousands and in reality it's some sports game that's been resealed inside some high value title but they'll never know as they are using it as an investment so it'll never be opened.

Pretty safe ordering from genkivideogames the only import shop in the uk i'll buy stuff from as sometimes they get amazing deals in, like finding new copies of mr domino & suzuki bakuhatsu for actually really decent prices. I check every so often to see if anything new has arrived as it's good to give them some buisness from time to time instead of always using amazon j/ebay.

All the ebay purchases finally turned up, game tengoku had like a bazillion of those tiny swirl scratches on the case which isn't unexpected from how long it's been out there but a quick buffing with novus as usual removed 99% of them making it look close to new. The green ps1 pad is beautiful there no marks on it all and the sticks feel solid. Whoever owned this has taken extreme care of it, just had to fix the cable as people still keep doing that thing of wrapping the cable around the controller so over time the inner wires twist inside the outer sheath you can reverse it but it takes a while to reverse twist the able to straighten them out. Love the colour the pics on ebay didn't do it justice a deep emerald green now i want more clear pads
