Nah I reckon Nintendo and Sega stuff is still way more popular man. PCE is a foreign concept to most under the age of about 45 I reckon, and it was never as big in the US as it was in the UK and Europe (even though they got a proper release of it). Hardly any of the franchises from the machine are still going concerns today, either, unlike the SNES, MD and even NeoGeo.
There's still a ton of love for it out there, obviously, like you say, but a quick look at a large retro community like r/retrogaming shows there's comparatively little discussion of stuff like Soldier Blade or even Bonk versus classic Nintendo stuff.
I think it's cool that Analogue made the machine knowing the addressable market must be that much smaller, though.
