Bloody hell, first Vince uses the racially loaded "n" word, and now this. The build up to the match was going alright as it was - they have been promoting it solidly and I was looking forward to it - he really didn't need to pull this ****.

I have been watching a lot of TNA recently. Some superb stuff on there, I really enjoyed Bound for Glory and Genesis. Some real stars in there with some unique and exciting moves and gimmicks. Samoa Joe and AJ Styles are, obviously, excellent, but Abyss is a classy Kane-style big man, Petey Williams can really go and has a wicked finisher, and we are seeing vintage Dudleys right now and hopefully lots to come from the talented Jason Reso (Christian).

With top workers like Joe, Styles, Monty Brown, Abyss, a re-juvenated Raven, Rhino, etc etc, it staggers me that the tired looking one trick pony Jarrett still insists on putting the belt on himself. As soon as the promotion can overcome this then it will go places.

The Tim White section showed the difference between good and bad writers. Good writers would have had Tim White threaten Josh with the gun (if you needed on to be shown) and have him back out of the bar, maybe have some police tackle and take him down. A bad writer puts a ridiculous suicide storyline in. It is ridiculous in that EVERYONE watching knows that it could never have happened and it is staged. If they had shown Tim White breaking down abotu how Hell in a Cell ruined his life then that would have been great. Having Tim White commit suicide because of Hell in a Cell makes a mockery of the whole show.

I mean jesus, they would have done better to have Tim White arrested by cops for pulling a gun, and then turning up drunk on Smackdown the next few weeks trying to get at Teddy Long (a former ref) so staging another Hell in a Cell and bringing back all the horrible memories. Eventually he brings out a new wrestler that he is using to get revenge on the WWE. THAT would at least be entertaining with the right wrestler involved.

              Is this thread still alive?

Anyway, New Years Revolution - what a finish!

After everyone being absolutely sick and tired of Cena winning all of the time, Vince finally took note and gave the belt to Edge. Brilliantly done, too. In the elimination chamber match, Michaels and Angle - clearly the main contenders for the title - were eliminated early on. Cena went on to win that match (to many boooos) before Vince came and announced that Edge was cashing in his MITB. Amazing pop. 2 spears. No crappy champion anymore.

Now, lets see Edge - Angle at WrestleMania, eh? And give it 40 minutes

EDIT: Is it me, or was Angle's promo early on in the show brillant. "I can say I hate the blacks and you still cheer me when I'm wrestling"... He was totally right.

EDIT 2: Just been on WWE.com, huge spoilers there for SmackDown from last night's taping... looks awesome. Its like the fans are booking now, how it should be.

actually most of the event sucked big time with a lot of poor matches including the chamber.
cena was getting booed all the way through. it seems likly now that due to the awful reception he has gotten over the past few months mania's main event will be edge - HHH. that is unless cena gets back the title at the rumble. it seems certain that a raw guy will win the rumble anyway if not HHH then micheals or angle.
the wwe has had a number of shockingly bad ppvs recently but im hopeful for the rumble(i always am)

just saw some smackdown! spoilers. very big news (that im pleased about)

due to a serious injury picked up last week batista has been forced to give up the title - meaning we have a new champion.

                    Wrestlemania, then.

I thought it was ludicrous giving Rey the title ? the fans booed him and are sick of him cashing in on Eddie?s death (in my opinion). Plus hardly a match goes by without him screwing up a move (he screwed up one at WM). I think Orton deserved it more as he looks and acts like more of a superstar, and is the best heel in the company along with Edge. Nice finish by Rey though.

Shelton was incredible in the ladder match. Would be nice to see some RVD vs Shelton matches I reckon. In terms of the title shot, RVD will have to wait until a heel holds the title again ? and a heel that will work with him. HHH has made it clear that he doesn?t have any time for Van Dam and doesn?t think he can work.

I thought the hardcore and money in the bank were both excellent, the women?s match was surprisingly entertaining, and Undertaker did marvellously with Henry. Foley looked amazingly mobile despite carrying all that extra weight. I didn?t enjoy the triple threat, but thought Cena did well in the main event. I hate to say it but I quite like the guy, feel sorry for him as he does work hard with far less talent than some of the other top guys. The entrances were pretty embarrassing though. JR and King did a reasonable job explaining why the crowd were booing him!

So ? on the whole thought it was a half decent PPV, but they are still yet to top WM X7, which was easily the best WM of all time.

I agree, Orton should have won the gold. Rey gets on my tits TBPH. He's just so whiney.
Taker's match was about as good as it could be with that huge lump Mark Henry. The match did show one thing though, not even taker can carry that sack of **** through a good match.
I'm with Seany, I like Cena, although I think a heel turn would do the power of good, it's about time.
HBK's match was amazing, with a bit of old school Sean at the the end of the bout.

Best thing of the night though, was Trips entrance! ROFLPOLOOZA! He looked like a viking, bloody marvellous and worth the ?15 alone!

Right, firstly this was WrestleMania. But with no surprises. Which sucks.

Anyway, the matches - I was surprised to see RVD win because of what Sean said - HHH won't work with him. Hope they switch the title to Edge and they have RVD-Edge somewhere down the line. That could blow the roof off. The MITB match was nothing on last years, though, unfortunately with a lack of genuine ladder specialists.

Foley-Edge was decent. Foley's last match surely which was aimed to give him some hardcore credability back. I think it was enough to cement him as a genuine legend.

The womens match was possibly best of the night (never thought I'd say that). The crowd had it spot on being behind MJ, but booing Trish was very harsh, I think. Apart from the botched finish and the lame kick as a cover up, this was great.

Taker v Henry was utter tripe. Why they're giving Henry a spot above Ohio valley is completely beyond me. He must love Vince long time, thats all I have to say.

Vince - HBK was superb. Did anyone think it was blindingly obvious that Bret would do a run in? I did, but was wrong. Anyway, a superb bout.

Now Cena. Man, he sucks. The angle they took to try make him an Austin-like working man's hero was just lame. OMG Cena trained without a daily massage! But he had a personal trainer and a gym full of weights. The way they went on you'd think he stood in a cave lifting bricks and eating dirt. I was thinking, BUT HE'S A MILLIONAIRE, FFS. I. DON'T. CARE. HE STILL CAN'T WRESTLE AND HIS PUNCHES SUCK! I was surprised HHH tapped - he's normally way more selfish. Anyway, that match was just OK.

HHH will have a red face after blaming Angle's lack of heel skills for Cena getting booed, won't he?

As for Rey winning, I don't mind the result as he's quite entertaining but the fact that he wouldn't be there if Eddie wasn't dead is a bit sick. And I'm getting royally pissed off with them using his name STILL to put people over. It's getting beyond a joke and I can't believe his wife has stood by and let it happen.

im suprised he would have anything to do with the WWE after the history of beef his family have with them.

Its really sad how his family has fallen apart to wrestling, on one hand wrestling helped put them on the map, but over the years it has also taken a lot away from them.

I hated the way Finkel buried Bret at the start of the Hall of Fame section of WM - shocking. Still, it felt good when me and Kane ran through Carlito and Masters, eh 112?
