they seemed to ignore the leaderboard qualification test of the car being able to get over a speed hump for the FXX.
I liked the challenge with the old car/train/bike. The news was awful scripted drivel as usual but its a cheap way to fill 10m for them so expect to see more of it.
Slightly off topic but the James May Moon prog straight after was great, the follow on prog on BBC4 focussed on his training for 3 days for the U2 flight was really good as well.

I'd just like to point out that I have the same shirt as Hammond was wearing

News was awful, as were any overly 'scripted' (I know it's mostly scripted) bits. I've said for a while now that JC is at his worst when he's asked to act, he just can't do it, see the unveiling of Stig as a prime example, his reactions and surprise were just awful.
I liked the episode in general though, thought the race was decent and Hammond doing his own little theme tune for the Vincent had me and my wife cracking up.
Loved the look of the Evora article too, it was very well shot on the whole, seems the production team have some new toys to play with.
Like the moon thing after too, that was cool.

As good as Schuey is though, i'm still not sure he'd beat the stig on that track as he is on it day in day out all year.
Would be interesting to know who actually drove the Ferarri but i reckon your right with your assumption that Schuey came over with it and drove the lap.
I thought Clarkson was goona have a heart attack when he was legging it through Edinburgh station. He's only 49 and looks about 60, lol.

It's apparently quite common for the sports car manufacturers to insist that if they're going to do a full-on power lap with the car on the test track then one of their own test drivers does it.
They dress them up as the Stig, and off we go.
They still have a 'regular' Stig who they use most of the time, but the conceit lets them get cars on the track that otherwise they wouldn't be able to.
