He's just a guy who works in a box factory with a hobby though, I don't think they've ever said he had any training.

As for the door, that whole sequence of events was somewhat contrived to ensure Locke saw what he was supposed to see. But you have to admit, it was a great moment, the likes of which we have had too few of in season two.

Good news for those of you like me who are fed up with the long breaks the shows producer's appear to agree and are talking with abc to correct the problem. Next year they plan to air the show in 3 acts of 7,7 and 8 episodes. Link

Yip, I know Locke hasn't had any formal training, but he's obviously spent a hell of a lot of time learning stuff and an intelligent guy. LIke you say, it was just contrived and that annoyed the hell out of me for some reason!

Hmmm, I'm starting to wonder if I have the energy required to watch another season of 22 episodes when the story could probably be told in a 8 or so.

218 was aired last night, lets hope it's not another famous CRAP one!

            Hmmm, just watched it.

            Ep18:

Hurley goes a bit nutso. He's been nutso in the past. He bitch slaps Sawyer. His imaginary friend tries to convince him the whole island is a dream and that he's just in a coma. He gets a kiss. Turns out the girl he kisses was also in the loony bin. The end.

I'm starting to hope that Lost is just a figment of my imagination and I'll wake up from a coma ensuring I don't need to suffer a third season.

Sorry, but yes, I did think it was ****. I just think they have the balance between flashbacks and what's happening on the island, totally wrong.

What about the converation between Locke and Gale, re the entering of the number?

Might be a lie, might not. I'm a bit confused about how they're dealing with him tbh. He might just be trying to get them to let the timer run out so something bad happens. But he's been proved as a liar already, so I'd have thought they'd be bargaining with him to do a prisoner swap or torture him or something.

The "Locke is Jack's biatch" and bickering thing is beyond tiresome though.

Still an okay episode. Not too bad. Hurleys story was interesting and we know for sure "Henry Gale" is an other or something..

It was an inbetween episode. Certainly nowhere near the worst, but not one of the best either. It wasn't a let down watching it anyway.

from what I have read this looks to be a blockbuster episode. Not just laying it out and spoon feeding but opening up a few ideas.

Hurley - what is real or not about Dave. Other visions the other have had have been mute and phantoms. This guy seems real. Is he real or a plant by the 'others' from an extract of Hurleys mind? So on the outside he really is an imaginary friend, yet on the Island he is 'real'. Interesting that Libby is from the same nuthouse, wonder what the rest of her story is. Again, is she real?

Gale. Obviously an other now, what game is he playing by letting a few little snippets slip out. Why mention the magnet sound, is Locke now tempted to see the clock run down? The piece about the island being invisible to the rest of the world is one thing, but why bring God into it?

Libby looks dirty as a mental patient

                              but more of the same

why other great TV shows have been cancelled and this has been allowed to run is beyond me

while it wasnt quite as cool as last weeks, i thought it was a pretty good episode. proving once again that hurley is the best thing in the show.

henry gale giving out a few details was nice, keeping the hatch/others thing ticking over.
and a reasonably decent theory as to the whole thing...it exists in hurleys mind, which is certainly better than most of the other theories i've heard in the past.
