Seems like Ben is the bad guy. I think he's just using the others just to get back on to the Island and Widmore really wanted John back to protect the Island.

Makes more sense now that the "others" kind of chose John as their new leader which is why Ben shot him in season 3 before. Looks like Ben does not want to give up the Island and will do everything possible to get back and get rid of John. Widmore mentioned that Ben exiled him before which explains why Ben screwed John over

both Ben and Widmore are bad guys, I think they were both probabaly using john to try and get to the other.

Yeah it was a great episode which doesn't really further the island story all that much, but at least we know

Lockes back, ressurected just like Jacks father after a plane crash

Now that we have all the details leading to the final 8 episodes it's gonna be awesome to get some real progression to why they're actually there

Time loop theory - Jack's dad is probably in a different time line but can communicate to Locke thus not been able to help him.
Eloise Hawking (Daniel Faraday's mum) was the person Locke was looking for because Christian (Jack's dad) said she could help him but when he told Ben about her he strangled him immediately meaning Ben knows his plan will change if Locke finds her.

Is Ben the bad guy or Widmore we dont know but still we dont even know all the Dharma stations because the show hasn't mentioned them all.

I would guess we are in for a run of island episodes now - I enjoyed this episode, although I thought it was a bit obvious that Ben would be the one to strangle John.

It will be intereting to see how the relationship between a young Widmore and Ben pans out.

A lot is going to depend on what years the two sets of people are in at the moment.

Yeah I just watched it. I'm in complete awe. This show just keeps getting better and better. I love the presentation of this series with the slick back and forth black background and white text for 'three years later / earlier'. Very nice.

we've only just caught up with what happened four episodes ago and it doesn't feel cheap or like filler.

the pace recently has been great and that episode just slowed it all back down

still a great series though

Really enjoyed the "filler" episodes, even though they inch the story forwards they provide great backstory.
