There's really that few episodes left?

Wow. The show needs to get incredible again, and fast.

Last episode was absolute tripe! Nothing was added except for

      desmond being brought back

. And the flash-sideways are becoming a waste of viewing time!

Maybe this isn't the last series?

That would be the ultimate twist. Except not a good one.

I continue my opinion that this series has been ****. Still holding on hope that the show maintains it's ability to pull it out of the bag for the finale. They better tie up this flash sideways rubbish to the main plotline soon, I really hope it is not all for nothing!

If it is the last season then that'll be the biggest shock of all.

It wasn't much cop was it.

I had high hopes for this week, Sun & Jin are two of the more interesting characters for me, so this was a bit of a disappointment to say the least.

I maintain that the final season should be a bit more explosive than this is at the moment.

Not going to spoiler a theory, because it is probably miles off anyway, but:

It does seem to me that the sides being taken on the island are having a negative/positive effect in the alt verse - Jack and co are placing their faith in a belief, where as the Locke bunch are placing their allegiance in personal reward/false promise.

Quite how this would work with the real Locke I don't know, because he obviously isn't dead in the alt verse.

A final point: I thought it was quite interesting that Sun refused Locke on his promise of the re-unite with Jin, and adds a little credence to the above theory.

I thought it was utter bull****, total filler.

All of Widmore's people, new characters we don't care about.

being back, a nice little way to create another story episode if the writers were short an episode.

Other than that, something came to mind last night...whatever happened to the whispy voiced dude that I've forgotten his name? The one who actually seemed to know what was going on? He walked off some time last season and I can't remember what happened to him! EDIT: Daniel...what happeneded to Daniel?

                    Daniel Faraday? he

was shot and killed by his own mother in the dharma 60s, he did say if they used the bomb though everything would be ok.

I haven't watched any of this series but watched all the previous series. Should I give it a miss?

Ahhh of course. But isn't that a plot hole, a paradox? If he dies back then, he can't live to go forward to go back and die!?! Oh man, this ****ing show!!

Sorry, but there's just so much gone on. I watched the most recent one last night and I said to my wife, I bet if you go back and watched the first season or two, none of this would make any sense whatsoever.

I mean, the time travel...if "locke" wanted what he wanted, he could have done all of this within the first season...so was the time travel all largely irrelevant?

I did have a thought though, I wonder if the show ends with

Desmond going back into a new station to start pushing the numbers again

and it all goes back to the start, a neverending cycle to keep everything "safe" and "him" on the island.

Charles, given the way the show has been going, I'd personally just watch the "end of season/begginning of season" recaps, and watch the final season. So much seems pointless and irrelevant now, I'd find it hard to reccomend sadly!

Sorry, I meant season, not series. I have watched all the previous seasons.

I think there must have been a collective sigh of relief in the Lost writers room when someone said that they should just 'embrace the mumbo-jumbo'.

I must admit that somewhere back in season 3 I still thought that there would be a really clever, well thought-out explanation of just what was going on, even for the smoke monster (although its always been a little worrying). But now it must be the easiest series to write for - it's all magical nonsense!

Magical mirror lighthouses, healing pools of water, mystical 'rules' that aren't explained

; all nonsense. Why did all Oceanic 6 have to go back to the island together?

Why must all the candidates leave the island together?

It's all just nonsense to allow for poor stories of back and forth between the two camps.

Why does everyone have to do things of their own free will? Because otherwise Flocke could just change into smokie and drag 'em back over to his camp.

It's not clever and it's not a mystery, it's just nonsense to keep things going around and around.

Charles, I'd say that if you loved the earlier seasons and like the characters it's worth a watch just to see how it all pans out but I must admit that as much as I love Lost, it's now pretty much lost me.

I thought the last episode was brilliant, really enjoyed the

Sun and Jin story line and the pieces being moved into place for some proper epic kickoff later!!

It just felt like it found its way again.

I agree that, taken on it's own, this series has been pretty good. But I get a feeling that once the smoke has cleared (no pun intended), I'm gonna have a very dim view of the show as a whole. There are way too many inconsistencies, and conveniently-ignored loose ends at the moment.
