It was pretty pointless but I did enjoy it all the same, flashbacks to other island stuff is quite cool.

Hopefully it'll have some relevance in later episodes, i'm sure they'll resurface. Loved seeing old faces

Taken on it's own, I rather enjoyed it. It added absolutely nothing to the "main storyline" though, and could be lifted straight out.

So they introduce these two characters at the start of the season just to kill them off 14 episodes later ? who writes that ****.....

I suppose its plausable that everyone hated these new characters so much that they killed them off but still they could have least died doing something toward the story line.

1/4 of the episode was just the first and second season as flash backs with these two.

i thought it was a cool episode, on thing it haas made me want to do thought is go back to season 1 and rewatch!! (i rewatched the 2nd half of season 2 and start of season 3, before the s3 restart) was great just seeing the basic island stuff again and all the crap they were going through (no ping pong tables!)

Now that was a far, far better episode. I've read what next weeks episode is about but hopefully the bits that aren't flashbacks continue this.

They couldn't do it could they. That's possibly the worst episode of Lost yet in my opinion.

Completely devoid of any point and completely removed from the plot. What purpose did it serve to show us the inside of a couples relationship only to kill them off, albeit in the most horrific way.

Honestly, how can they have such wonderful episodes then go this way in the next?

What makes it even more laughable is that they "brought back" Boone for about 60 seconds in this episode.

As an episode, if you were to take it as a spin-off it wasn't so bad, but after the week before, well...as for plot progression it's a complete insult to the viewers of the show.

At the end of the day, I'll keep watching...I can't help it, once you're hooked thats it.

What is the big deal?

It was clearly designed to give the main guys a break from filming. It fleshed out two background characters and had a nice little plot pointer (what Was said in the hatch about Jack showed that they had been planning the operation for ages).

that bit in the pearl was one of the best parts.

paulo found the hatch, knew they were using michael and that they planned on getting jack...and said nothing about it to anybody.
i also thought his comment about going up to the smugglers plane would be stupid as it would fall down and kill him.

Is that supposed to be a joke? Half the cast aren't in every episode and to be frank I couldn't care less about them having a break, the viewer already had enough of a break waiting 3 months for a new episode.

Quite enjoyed it but yeah it was total filler.

I love how they can interweave way back to S1 like that - I bet if you go back and watch it those bits won't have been there or certainly not those actors but I do clearly remember Locke grabbing her/a female and hitting the ground when the guy got sucked into the jet.

Hopefully now we can get back to the good stuff.
