i think he was referring to secrets in general more than anything.
he had to add the info about tides otherwise he would look a bit of a nutter. locke just likes being all enigmatic when actually hes a bit stupid...i bet his dad wil manage to con him again.

Really didn't like this episode as I had no interest in the two people it revolved around. After watching the likes of Prison Break and Heroes, where generally each episode has something interesting happening, it just makes watching Lost all the more frustrating now.

Yet, I keep watching it.

I feel like I've just watched a 45 minute "Previously on Lost" recap.

After everything that's happened in the last two or so episodes I didn't mind a bit of filler material. I really enjoyed it - a nice little morality tale and told in an interesting way.

Although it didn't make sense that she opened her eyes first -

Paulo was bitten first so technically he should have been the one to wake up at the closing of the programme.

I guess you can argue that away by saying peoples metabolisms are different. Having not been in a spider venom induced coma I wouldn't know.

I was fearing the worst after reading 'worst episode ever' and 'that episode was utter tripe' comments but to be honest I found it far more enjoyable than Hurley's last episode, in fact i quite liked it.

Also after three quality episodes on the bounce I don't mind a slower paced episode as long as we get back to Locke next week.

everytime the smoke has appeared its been preceded by what sounds like a bird call. We heard exactly the same thing , Nikki even starts looking around. Then the spiders appear. Ties in with the smoke 'judging' the bad again...

There was something odd about last nights episode.

While I don't think the spiders were the smoke, there was definitely supposed to be something out there. After Nikki came crashing through the jungle in front of Hurley and Sawyer, Sawyer was distracted by something in the under growth.

thats definitely what it wants you to believe. The audio cue was there, she was 'punished' right after her crime. Theres no way the pheromones explanation is true... if it was why didnt the female spider attract them from the jar? It certainly cant have been air tight. Also they would have went straight for the source , the splat on Paulos neck and hand , if they did have that strong an effect. Bit convenient that one decided to crawl up Nikkis leg and bite her
