    Lockout
Watched it again this weekend and it's still low budget, still cheesy, still brilliant fun. Guy Pierce for Expendables 3!

    Green Lantern
Another watch and I still feel this gets an undeserved heavy kicking. Not one of the best superhero films but so very far from one of the worst.

      The Cabin in the woods

What a load of ****e, thats an hour and a half I'll never get back. Right from the off you now this isnt really a horror from the jolly banter the 2 facility staff share in the opening scene. In fact it isnt really a horror in the 18 rated sense, nor is it a comedy as theres not even half the gags required to be considered one. This is just a jack of some trades and master of none. Just because its difficult to pigeon hole doesnt mean its great. Yeah, maybe you could praise the innovation but Im not buying. I just want my horror films to be horrific and my comedies to be LOL funny. This is neither and just ends up epic fail. The teenagers are still annoying as hell and ultimately twist threat was justified to an extent meaning you didnt really have anyone to root for in the end. I was just glad it was over with no real sign of a sequel.

i thought Lockout was absolutely terrible

could have been re-titled Glasgow in Space or the Scottish prison in space

Christian Bale sure got into character for this role. We found it tough to watch as he looks a state. The film was great though, very well acted and kept you guess where it was going until the end.

Never saw the guilt aspect coming. We knew some revelation was going to be unveil at the end but never saw guilt. Some things you can never run away from I guess
I finally saw this after meaning to for years. I'll have to confess it's not the film I thought it was going to be. I might have been getting confused with Pi or Primer. In fact, until I saw Bale working on a lathe or drill in the factory, I thought the title was pronounced "The Mashinist" as in somebody who does a lot of machination, not a skilled tradesman operating a machine.

Maybe it's the similar film posters?

Anyway, the film was intriguing, but really dragged. There are quite a few protracted driving scenes that I sped up and I didn't miss any of what was going on. Towards the end, you've got the point that things aren't right and what he sees may or may not be real but you just want to get to the twist.

It was an unexpected one, but I was ready for the film to end by that point!

            Battleship

Avoid, unless you really liked Independence day and Transformers 3 . . . . . . and dumb dialogue. Its based on a board game so nuff said.

Battleship makes transformers 3 look like a masterpiece of film making.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to see Battleship but think I'll be making a trip to see Total Recall instead.

I watched Battleship last night, it loses some of its fun on the small screen but generally I enjoyed it again. The first hour is dodgy but the last hour is good fun

not seen it this week was a little while back but came to mind today men in black 3 i thought it was not to bad but felt a fair bit of the cgi looked really and a lot more fake then in most films (was almost like they couldnt superimpose the effects quite right)

Watched the Dark Knight rises at the imax. It rates as one of the greatest film experiences I have seen so far. So epic in both music, story and acting. The sound was equal to the image in the imax, in fact I want to go and see it again right now.

Good end to the trilogy although I did think

When Michael Caine looked up from his drink at the end cafe scene we were going to be treated to another Inception moment. Did he see batman or not? I also really thought Batman was going to fight Bain without his suit on as Bruce Wayne escaped the prison without the rope. That would have been a statement but I guess you have to make the comic people happy too.

Who ever picks up the Batman films in the future has a tough act to follow.

Picked up the Police Story boxset from Sainsbury's for ?3, so I've been watching that over the weekend. The first has so many infamous stunts I feel like I've seen it before; even though this is my first viewing. Particular favourites were the bus stopping one (where the stuntmen smash through the window as the bus grinds to a halt) and the supermarket dive, where Jackie destroys his hands sliding down a pole. Looking forward to watching New Police Story later on tonight.

Also picked up Watchmen. Very adult in nature considering it's a comic book film with some brilliant moments. Rorschach was my favourite character and the parts with him in prison were superb. Dr Manhattan was an interesting look at what happens when someone has evolved to a higher state of consciousness - with him becoming more distant from the people around him. Good flick.

Seriously, if you liked Rorschach in prison in the movie..... read the graphic novel. You'll also realise it was always pretty adult in nature in terms of themes, tone and action.

Yeah that's that's probably my favorite part out of any of the police story movies. The Ladder fight from first strike is a close second though.
