Watched that Super High Me on Netflix last night. It's actually not as **** as it first appears but it's also not 100% amazing. Stoner comedian quits weed for 30 days then hits it 24/7 for the next 30. Some funny bits but rarely LOLtastic, was quite eye-opening seeing how weed is almost legally available in California, was not aware it was so widespread and overt(!) Love the idea of the lone cop, "John Smith", who has decided to take on such shops alone, like some odd crusader!

Good stuff, not a classic but deffo more entertaining than Spurlock's burger film, plus better call Saul turns up in one bit, and I like the guy's reason for explaining why he smokes weed in the first place.

Might aswell have released drogo the barbarian instead lol.
Yep he was promising in Game of Thrones, despite having very little dialogue in that.

He was certainly hampered in this movie by plot, script and director - all abysmal. I reckon I could've come up with a more coherent and structured storyline that made sense and kicked arse as a sword and sorcery flick.

Watched Taken & thoroughly enjoyed it - it's complete cobblers of course, but Liam Neeson lends it a gravitas far above what the material requires; he makes a pretty decent action hero all in all - excellent natural charisma. 'I have a very particular set of skills...' - I always think actors must cream themselves with joy at reading a script & getting to say lines like this

I bought the Blu-ray ages ago & have only just got round to watching it; rather irritatingly the english subtitles don't automatically come up during the French/Albanian scenes - well done 20th Century Fox :/

They're not supposed to, are they? I don't recall there being subs for those bits when I've watched it (and I've seen it about 5 times now lol)

Apparently the subs come up on the DVD & the US Blu-Ray, so it would suggest an error to me - did anyone see it in the cinema? I wonder if they came up there.

I don't see why it should be an issue, in the end

Wolverine doesn't turn around so they don't see his face, and in all honesty its never touched on in the three main films, but you still get a sense that there is history, and that Prof X and Magneto at least know about him already.

Was a top film though ...

If you take X-Men First Class as canon (which seems the right thing to do) then it's only Origins: Wolverine in the series that doesn't fit.

Just saw The Prestige which was pretty good. Another film by Nolan with Bale and Caine in so how can you go wrong I just love the way Nolan does stuff, he could do with some more visual flair but he brings things full circle and to a satisfying conclusion like N.Shamalyan and Zack Snyder can only dream of. Only Matthew Vaughn (Kick ass and First Class) is close to him at the moment I'd say.

                    This weekend we watched:

                    The Bourne Ultimatum
Still my fave of the three but the missus ranks the first film as her best. We're now both ready for Legacy.

                    Batman
The Burton version, it's version of Gotham owns anything shown of the city in the new trilogy and things like the car, Keaton etc work brilliantly still. Some of the humour and effects have aged and I'm going to brave it by saying... whilst at times great, Nicholson sometimes is just as much a poor Joker. Overall it works but between Jack and Heath (whilst both worthy versions) I think there's still room to outdo both in live action.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon - the bar was set pretty low after the truly awful second film. This one was ok, certainly better than no. 2 but for me it would've been better as giant robots fighting, not giant transforming robots - obviously limitations in the transformers cannon/franchise led to the ludicrous Optimus Prime flying addon/weapon trailer - WTF??? Seems he really wanted to use flying robots with big guns - and yeah that would be cool. Obviously Bay gets extra marks for making Rosie wear next to nothing for entire film. But really a ludicrous but mildly entertaining film none the less.

Senna - wow loved this. A wonderful doco. Not really into F1 but you can tell this guy was the real deal. The film clips taken from his car are absolutely amazing.

In the Transformers : Super God Masterforce series (1988), Optimus Prime/Jinrai/Convoy can fly with his trailer in God bomber mode.

                        /i'll get my coat.

I don't recall Optimus Prime flying around in the original cartoon although I must admit haven't seen them for about 20 years. Never heard of Super God Masterforce so you got me there!

In the original cartoon all transformers could fly when in robot form.

I don't think that's true, or it may be inconsistent....Decepticons can fly, but Autobots in general require a jet pack. In the return of Optimus prime, Galvatron is heard taunting the Autobots about how they can't fly when a giant spider web they are on crumbles.
