Sort out Han shooting first, bring back the old Sy-Snootles, re-insert the 'Yub-dub' Jedi ending and for ****-sake take out those approach to Moss Eisley scenes with the comedy Jawa and then i'll be happy!

I really dont know If I should pre-order the complete saga.
I am umming and aaring over placing a pre-order, like a retarded pirate... YAAR!

Play have it for the same price as amazon aswell. Hmm.

I'll preorder it closer to release when there's some good offers and new information. No rush.

I've pre-ordered the complete set from Amazon - using the theory that, from time to time, they muck about with their pre-order prices. It's feasible that - at some point over the next few months - they will drop this to a silly price for a day or so. At that point, your pre-order changes to that price and stays like it.

Happened to me before a few times - my Matrix set cost me 17.99 when it came out, as they dropped the price for a few days when it was up for pre-order. At the time of release, it had gone back up to (I think) £35.

It saddens me to see this sentiment flying around at the moment.

If HMV closes, then there'll be nowhere at all to buy films where I live. Which would suck. Online ordering is all well and good, but you can't browse and find random stuff as easily.

Just watched The Social Network (Sony) - loved it. Can't fault the film in any way. Interesting, funny, and better still, all the little details of what the web was like in 2003 seem to have been captured perfectly.

                  Watched The A-Team last night.

Awesome pic. Proper press play switch off brain stuff!

                  Looked brilliant & sounded fantastic!

Bought K20 Legend of the Black Mask on Monday. It's a Japanese film starring Takeshi Kaneshiro in a kind of Robin Hood / V For Vendetta role set in a world where WW2 never happened and the aristocracy lord it over the poor. I saw it on a flight to Japan about 2 years ago and wanted to see it again so I'm glad Manga picked it up.

Going to watch that today on my day off.

For anyone who hasn't picked it up yet the Propostion is an excellent Bluray and I got it for a fiver from CEX. Forgot just how good a film it is!

The Extended Editions of The Lord of The Rings are being released on blu-ray some time this year, I'd imagine it would be October or November just in time for Christmas.

It's possibly happening this year as the two Hobbit films are now on the move and Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett & Christopher Lee have all now signed up for the pair of them.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see extended versions of The Hobbit films appearing at some point possibly with a massive box set of all five films making an appearance at some point.

April's Criterion releases, some are already available in the UK in decent condition so they'll need to do something pretty special to get people to import them.

There are some bloody good titles though.

                      Le Cercle Rouge - Jean-Pierre Melville (12/04/11)

White Material - Claire Denis (12/04/11)

                      Sweetie - Jane Campion (19/04/11)

                      Kes - Ken Loach (19/04/11)

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas - Terry Gilliam (26/04/11)

Blow Out - Brian De Palma (26/04/11)

                          Seconded.

Any lover of film or music who actively wants to see hmv disappear from our streets doesn't deserve to call themselves one, in my book.

Sorry, don't want to derail the thread but I feel passionately on the subject.

It seems to be a common thing with French releases, they're always announced by pro-bassoonist first and then it's a matter of waiting to see if subtitles are confirmed. It often ends in disappointment though and I seemed to wait ages to find out about the French release of Du Rififi Chez les Homme.

Luckily Pathe France seem to like English subtitles so hopefully it'll be alright.

The extras sound interesting on the Criterion release and as was the same on DVD they are again releasing Melveille's 1970 uncut French version of the film rather than the censored 1990 American version.

I'm not convinced there will be any reason for you to buy this version as you own the Studio Canal version but I'm going to wait to see what the Criterion release is like as I've held off from buying the Studio Canal version as this was rumoured to be on the way.

                                EDIT:
The same goes for The Double Life of Véronique, I already have the Artificial Eye blu-ray but the picture quality is surprisingly poor.

I do get the feeling that it's possibly down to the source material rather than it being poorly mastered but I would be very happy to replace it depending on the quality of the Criterion release.
