    And some Smallville set photo's

It's hard to see the thinking behind that. Implausibility of the editor of a giant top selling newspaper being black aside (how many black editors do news corp have?), an actor known for being brooding and reserved isn't exactly the best of choices (unlike Kingpin who was very well cast and SLJ as Nick Fury).

Still not as weird as Spider-man being half Latino, half black...

Yeah, when Fishburne shouts at Lois to go get an exclusive he's just going to seem like an angry git. It's not a great fit.

I think Fishburne is great. They're obviously going for something quite different here and I don't have a problem with that at all, although part of me thinks he would have been a better villain. I'd be less convinced about Cavill's ability to pull off Superman (ooh er) than Fishburne being Perry White.

Speaking of, Cavill walking around set with pretty big hair and the Superman kiss curl

Here he is in the suit - http://www.aintitcool.com/node/50679

What's with the frikkin scales?! Does every suit need to be overtextured these days? It looks the same as the Spiderman suit. It's veeeery rubbery too. Rubbery scales. Even the logo is rubber scales.

Still, Cavill doesn't look half bad.

Yeah im not a fan. Why can't it just be smooth...you know, like the one in the comic its based on?

So, do we think there will be a superman/Batman cross over film sometime? I can feel it in my bones...

Yeah, there'll be new Batman movies along with Wonderwoman and Flash in order to build up to a JL movie like Marvel are doing with the Avengers. I think Green Lantern was the first of these with Superman next in line. Im pretty sure the new Batman will be nothing like Nolans trilogy but I've read rumours they'll keep him on as producer in a similar role to the one he's playing for Man o Steel

I just don't get the costume. This is Superman right? And look at the size of that cape!

Was watching Superman Returns at lunchtime and really enjoyed it after initially not liking it years back. Routh did a good job of balancing out the Clark Kent/Superman personalities as did Reeve back in the day.

                        Routh was perfect imo.

Now we're going to get "dark, edgier" Supes with a big portion of Snyder homo-erotica.

Will look amazing and empty at the same time

Totally agree. He looks like the lizard from Spider-man.

I think they were aware that they couldn't change it much so the texturing is an attempt at making if different from the originals. It takes some getting used to but it's not so far out there that I'm feeling overly concerned about the film yet. It's a nice enough pic even if it does reek of Snyder.

Warners has previously said they'd consider having a Superman/Batman\JLA cross over but it would be seperate from the solo Superman and Batman films with different actors etc. I'd be thankful too, mixing Superman and Batman has always been en epically stupid concept.

I thought Superman Returns was a massive disapointment, theres nothing wrong with a dark and edgy take on Superman, i'd much rather have that than Returns which was basicaly a mushy romantic drama. I do agree that Routh was good though, I think hes somewhat of an underrated actor in general really.

some of their best stories are when they're fighting against or alongside each other. The problem with the movies is it would take about 3 films to build up enough back story to make sense. They often use Superman as the goody 2 shoes and Batman as the dark, anything to get the job done type and it usually works pretty damn well.
