Blurry set pics show that Superman will be following the upcoming comic reboots by not having him wear the red underwear. Personally, I don't think it looks as good as the old style in either live action or comic form but thankfully it's just a small change

I don't mind the removal of the undies but I think the suit needed a bigger redesign to compensate because I think the boots look ridiculous now - like a big pair of red wellies. It either needed the red undies (or something else) to break it up or they should have made the boots blue or something else. Something more along these lines but without the glasses...



But even without the wellies issue, I think the rubbery look just doesn't work.

Initially I did not like the removal of red trunks because they serve to balance out the red to blue ratio of the costume, plus I hate when they mess with these classic costumes.

But it's actually starting to grow on me.
Apart from removing the trunks it's a pretty faithful so costume I'm looking forward to the film.
Plus I don't know if it's padding or not, but HC looks seriously buff.
I hope it's real muscle.

The suits even darker than it looked before and is a tad reminiscent of the abandoned 90's design which doesn't look as good as the Routh cleaner design. That said, in some of the these pics Cavill does have a bit of the Reeve's look about him

I think the main suit design looks fine when you can't see the boots. All that blue makes the huge red boots look ridiculous. But I really, really don't like those Spiderman scales. With the rubble around, I'm hoping the suit only looks that grimy because it's after a big fight scene because it looks filthy and dull - I really hope it shines up brighter when clean.

I think the costume looks awesome, I really like it.
As a purist initially I was against the loss of trunks, but the grey seems help break up the blue and the muscles are great. Cavil has been eating 5000 calories a day and doing 2 and a halfs in the gym daily and he looks to have put some considerable bulk on. I think it also looks like there is also some padding going on, but hey.

I must admit I'm not really a fan of Superman, but i am very very excited about this. I do like Zack's style, or at least... his visual style. I think he will do wonders with this.
