I must have watched that trailer about a million times last night...it's looking awesome.

Loki looks suitably sinister & the little bit between Banner & Stark at the end was pretty funny.

All in all I leaked serious Geek last night

I really like it and it looks pretty awesome but, but, but, but, but I'm hearing Whedon all over it. Is that a bad thing? I don't know. Stark gets away with it but I'm pretty sure I actually heard at least one of those exact lines in Buffy many years ago. The danger there is that they become less characters and more just vessels for Whedon's snappy dialogue, which isn't the same thing.

        Needs more Hulk!

Whedon knows his comic book characters, he writes fantastic comic book type dialogue but also knows who should say what, just look at Astonishing X-men. It is brilliantly written.

I dont think we have to worry about the characters and their dialogue.

What the hell, I posted this trailer before CTN. This is an outrage!

Lol I did see that in the official trailer thread but it's easier to comment on in the actual Avengers thread...discussion doesn't get lost then in amongst newer trailers

                Liking the look so far.

Is Loki the only villan in this, or does he have some sidekicks helping out?

As far as I'm aware it's just Loki but there is a lot of random rumours going around including something that Thanos may make an appearance.

I hope it is just Loki so they don't have to cram in loads of extra story & maybe set up towards a mega villian for Avengers 2

would be disapointed if it was just loki...as loki was the villain in thor would wish they get someone new as the main villain

I think there'll be a main villain other than Loki in this, I imagine Marvel will want to pull out all the stops as they won't know for sure yet if there'll be a sequel to this and Downey isn't committed to doing any more films after Iron Man 3 so they could lose one of the publics most appealing aspects.

So why in the world did the Paramount logo appear on yesterday’s trailer launch of “The Avengers” rather than the Disney logo considering they are the actual distributor and marketer of the film? The answer is rather unusual according to Variety. A year ago, after Disney made its multi-billion dollar deal with Marvel, the Mouse […]

Some information on the unique situation regarding Paramount Studios being credited on Avengers even though the film is handled by Disney

Tbh RDJ is starting to look quite old in those clips compared to the rest of the crew, plus the drubs n booze have no doubt helped the old crows feet etc. If Marvel/Disney and Paramount are going all out for this Avengers movie after 5 build up movies (which I doubt believe but then Im a cynical bastard) then what will be left for an IM3 movie?

                            Thank you!

I felt the same way when I saw the trailer. While it works perfectly for Tony Stark (in large part thanks to RDJ), every other character could end up feeling shallow and undeveloped. Coupled with the overly strong colors the movie seems to be using, I'm getting a faint Batman & Robin (yeah I went there) vibe. And Scarlett looks very unnatural in her scenes, like she's posing for a photoshoot or something. Action will probably be all kinds of delicious though.

I agree but the fan boys will lap it up no end. Maybe a 2nd trailer next year will reveal some better stuff. I just hope Hulk isnt too built up as a main weapon/show piece. We've had 2 lacklustre Hulk movies, I'd really like them to have him go ape **** and let loose in this movie. If you read Ultimates 2 graphic novel or watch the Ultimates animated movie, although not amazing it does do hulk some justice when trying to set him up as the strongest character in the Marvel universe.

                                Totally agree.

                                I want to see this:

                                but using CGI.
