I am – Hercules!! Could the nation’s cinemas be getting a 35-minute-longer “director’s cut” of Joss Whedon’s “Marvel’s The Avengers” this August? Such a cut is already rumored for a forthcoming Blu-ray release. Both ComicBook.com and...

Speculation that Avengers: Directors Cut might be heading to cinemas later this year

The fact that it's probably going to cinemas means that the blu ray release probably won't feature the directors cut as promised.

Pretty disappointing really. Though I love the film so much I might end up buying it twice anyway.

B*gger. I've already ordered the Blu-Ray. I just want to see what happened to Agent Coulson.

I am – Hercules!! “Item 47,” a 12-minute sequel to (spin-off of?) Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers,” will be included on the “Avengers” DVDs and Blu-rays due to hit shelves Sept. 25 “, according to Entertainment Weekly. The short is also...

The Blu-Ray will contain a 12 minute spin-off from the film following SHEILD agents tracking down a pair of humans who are robbing banks with tech left over from the Chitauri invasion. The short is called Item 47

Tester for a movie spin off? Would this include Black Widow and Hawkeye?

Via Yahoo, Here's a look at an alternate opening from THE AVENGERS - due on Blu-ray/DVD September 25. I dig this, although the sequence definitely sets a markedly different tone for the picture - I'm kinda thinking I like the one they went...

Watched this tonight. There were some nice set pieces, funny moments with the Hulk but apart from that it was........forgettably good. I didn't care much for Hawk Eye or Black Widow, both seems very wooden and robotic in their roles.

Glad I borrowed it and didn't buy it. Nice touch at the end though with

                  Thanos being teased

. Hopefully I will make it to the cinema for number 2.

It's good you got to see it finally. I think the film is enhanced by the cinema experience and brought with it a lot of fun that comic book films should carry (we have enough serious films already thanks).

Re: your comments on Hawkeye/Black Widow, Jeremy Renner seems to be typecast anyway and I like Scarlett Johansson as Widow but still would have preferred someone more sleek (Scarlett can act though so it makes sense).

Great 3d on bluray, but selling off my uk edition to pick up the us version. Wouldn't have bothered picking it up if i knew previously it had a sucky release in the uk.

Coming away from the film I tried my best not to compare it with Batman. After 1 day I thought I should definitely not compare it with Batman for the reason above, its the colour infused, smart remark fun side of Super heroes and thinking about the film in retrospect it has grown on me.

Not taking itself too seriously but at the same time hitting home that wow effect. I really must watch number 2 on the big screen.

What is wrong with uk release? Its DTS-MA! or are the extra pants compared to the US version.

US has commentary by Whedon and doesn't have one of the scenes edited. Oh and little couple of extras, nothing important.

Watching this on Blu-ray at the moment.

I love this movie. Proper popcorn entertainment. Great cast, great effects, some very nice one-liners.

                              Also, Scarlett and Cobie are
