I thought it was cack, but after not watching Thor I think they've pulled off the whole ****-crazy gods and alternate dimension stuff quite well. Seeing
    at the end was interesting.

The brief Thor vs. Hulk segment was very good. Although,

if Loki was never that hard why didn't Hulk just twat him earlier?

Yeah, it was ok I suppose. It had it's parts. But it still doesn't beat The Punisher as my favourite Marvel film, that was a class example on how to pull off a classic 80's style action fest (are you reading, Stallone?).

The Avengers superhero movie has smashed the record for the biggest US opening weekend, taking $200m (?123m), early figures show.
The previous best opening weekend was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which opened in July 2011 with $169m (?104m).

Watched this yesterday. Absolutely loved it from start to finish. Every aspect of it was proper amazing. Lovely to see some Whedon fan love too.

Only issue was that, watching it in 3D didn't really add much. Was this post processed?

Yep. I only noticed the 3D right at the start in a few shots.

The only true use of 3D that's had any effect on me thus far has been Avatar. I should stop wasting my money, I just can't help bumming 3D stuff though.

Thats becuase Avatar was shot in 3d. This wasn't.

If you haven't seen it I would strongly recommend watching Hugo in 3d. Pretty sure even someone as grumpy and hard to please as you will appreciate how brilliant the 3d was in it.

I saw Avengers in 3D and although it didn't add much it's the first time it didn't make the picture much worse. I gave up on the technology after disliking the effect in Avatar, unfortunately it's becoming increasingly difficult to find 2D screenings in my area.

Agreed. It's also the best 3D bluray disc. Fantastic film too, watched it twice.

Yeah I know that, but I wasn't just referring to this, I'm talking about everything else I've seen in 3d. What about Prometheus and Batman 3, are they true 3D?

Rewatched this yesterday and it was still brilliant fun, absolutely packed out screen so I imagine it's made a lot this week again. All the same bits raised a laugh and the last half hour is great.

                          Prometheus was filmed in 3d.

Batman isn't being shown in 3d.

Michael Bay’s giant alien robot antics get a free pass with them. Peter Berg’s upcoming alien invasion on water epic “Battleship” essentially serves as a two-hour recruitment commercial. But when it came to “Marvel’s The Avengers”, the Pentagon decided not to help out with use of their equipment and personnel. Phil Strub, the U.S. Defense […]

US Military presence was low in Avengers it seems as the design of S.H.I.E.L.D hurt their girly feelings.

                                Win and win.

Could have sworn I've seen a 3D Batman trailer at some point.
