Same as rmoxon to be honest and couldn't have said it better myself

It's like you just have to be different or if you get an idea in your head it won't be changed even if it ends up as just awesomeness on screen

I enjoy everyone loving something for you to come along with a meh comment and if that stops well I'm sure the earth will cease to be

Well Morph and Scottishgod arent far behind in the "its not as good as everyone is making out" so Im not the only one buster. And the earth must have ceased before when everyone (including me) loved The Dark Knight. Now THAT is how you do a comic book film.

While I agree that The Dark Knight is a great film, it's a completely different type of film. Also let's face it Nolans batman is actually a pussy who acts like he wants to quit being batman every time he gets punched in the face, Although I disagree with the people who say it doesn't feel like a batman film I do realise that it is very much Nolans take on the character.

The Avengers, beyond being a great film in so many ways, also embraces its roots, it is everything a film about the Avengers possibley could be, it's all pitch perfect. It's not only a fantastic film but it's a fantastic comic book film, two very different things for me and the fact that it manages to be both made it an incredible experience.

I've no idea what that means... But ok.

Seriously though, as if anyone is going to be talking about this after two years time about it being a Hollywood classic (like they do with TDK). If that was the case we'd have people still admiring the Xmen films and toss like Wolverine Origins.

Did you seriously compare this film to the horrible Wolverine movie?

You know it's probably not a good idea to start off by saying "seriously" and then ending by saying somthing so completely ridculous.

Comparing The Avengers to X-Men Origins: Wolverine is like comparing The Dark Knight to Batman and Robin.

And I do feel that you are wrong, I have not a single doubt in my mind that in a few years the majority of people will consider this the best comic book film ever made, it is a better film than The Dark Knight for me.

I suspect people are only considering TDK a classic because it's the first 'serious' comic book film that has done well for itself. In other words, adults beyond say 40 can go and see it and not feel like a child, probably because it was the first 'comic book' movie to win an academy award, and those AUTOMATICALLY qualify for 'classic' status in America (probably).

Personally I also enjoyed Avengers than TDK (actually agreeing with rmoxon over a film, who'd have guessed!). I never felt like the Nolan Batman films sat well with me, always preferred the Burton duo as those to me personified how a movie based on Batman should be done. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed Begins and TDK immensely, but they took themselves too seriously.

I'll still go and see DKR of course, but my expectations are probably going to be too high after the previous entry. Let's just hope Christian Bale has perfected his Bat-voice this time round. I'm not sure I could stomach close to 3 hours of growling.

You know the post-credits sequence? Rumour is the US release will have a second post-credit sequence

The scene is said to be a basic silly one, no dialogue

                            SPOILER

The team sitting around a table eating shwarma

Going to see this on Sunday and looking forward to it, despite thinking Thor and Iron Man 2 were absolute rubbish. Never bothered with Captain America as it didn't hold any real interest for me. Funnily enough, i've never seen the dark knight either, as batman begins did nothing for me both times i've seen it (Cinema and home) so didn't see the point. I'm probably wrong for not seeing that one, but at the time it felt like all the praise was more due to Heath Ledger popping his clogs. Anyway, Avengers looks great, hoping I won't be dissapointed.

You weren't alone in that! Assemble was far, far better than these two.

PS - when did it turn from The Avengers to Avengers Assemble? First I knew of it was when I looked at my cinema ticket!
