Tom Waits - Real Gone

I didn't expect this to be so good. I love Waits, and I think this could be my new favourite. I've had it on almost every night over the last couple of weeks.

Hoist that Rag, Shake It and Green Grass are really good.

At the moment I've got quite hooked on La Roux, thanks to their song Bulletproof.

There's so many bits of it that remind me of 8-bit music and chiptunes that I can't help but love it.

I'd say it's more 80s synthpop than chip music as it doesn't use any chip sounds at all.

I'm listening to the new Dangermouse and Sparklehorse album 'Dark Night of the Soul'. For once, label politics has actually served a useful purpose and this album can be downloaded for free because EMI won't touch it (presumably because of the label-spanning collaborations it features). cannot stop listening to Steel Panther on their myspace - "community Property" is a work of pure comedy genius! cant wait to get the album on monday.
