Been listening to the Stone Lion's Thump Rock Mix Volume One from the Marine Parade site (Adam Freeland's label). Anyone into Freeland should check it out, a great mix of rock, dance and hiphop...nu school breaks!

What a great album, I just LOVE his voice.
My singing voice sounds a bit like Lanegan, at choice moments. He is a legend, amazing seeing him live as it just sounds even better. Did a karaoke night one time, and they had Songs For The Deaf in the book! Needless to say I had a crack at "Song For The Deaf" - you should have seen the nonplussed looks on peoples faces, especially because I only had to sing a few lines, and the outro which goes on for several minutes. Was a classic!

Today I have the Deftones "Minerva" single (has a cover of Helmet's superlative "Sinatra" as a B-side) and Pre-Millennial Tension by the ever so creepy sounding Tricky, in my car. "Christiansands" is a belter.

Also heard the new Take That single on Moyles show this morning, which was pleasantly suprising. Fair play to them - when you look back they did have some cast in stone pop classics, and Barlow knows his way around a song and no mistake.

Been listening to a song off the Deftones upcoming new album, "Saturday Night Wrist" called 'Hole In The Earth'.

Fantastic little song, really, really catchy. Pretty much what you'd expect from them really.

Big choruses and colossal riffs ftw!

Been going on a Canadian music kick recently, bought albums by Broken Social Scene, Stars and Metric. Currently have the best stuff from the two Metric albums on repeat, lots of good songs on their albums.

                  The Killers, Sam's Town.

Has received pretty poor reviews but I really like it.

Been gettin' on down to a bit of Beck's Odelay today. Haven't listened to it in years. Just as good as I remember it being.

Yeah I quite like it too. I think possibly there is a feeling of the 'NME band of the week' thing with The Killers and, no matter what they did for this album, many reviewers would have criticised them. Or maybe they just didn't like it. Who knows.

Also been listening to some White Stripes today, which I haven't listened to in ages, which led me back to one of my all-time favourite singers - Frank Black and his absolutely stunningly excellently brilliantly wonderful album 'Dog in the Sand'.
