MattyD, you're right about the synth work - way ahead of its time.

I like the Mode (particularly Violator) but I am surprised that people think their early stuff as being so groundbreaking. Has no-one ever listened to Kraftwerk?

Funny enough, I'm listening to loads of the Kraut geniuses at the moment. Someone bought me the live Minimum-Maximum album and it has completely rekindleed my love for the Werk.

Word, someone lent me a collection called edge of the 80's and its a damn fine set at that, some cool low charting crackers.

Considering Lexicon of Love is one of my best albums ever, I have no idea why ive forgotten to look at the rest of ABC's stuff outside of chart singles, Beauty Stab wuill be bought soon.

ABC are awesome. Still got it live as well, saw them a few years back. I dropped "Smokey..." at a wedding I DJ'd the other week, couple of people got up and danced, sat behind my decks I was rocking the fark out.

True, I dunno why my fandome circulates soley round Lexicon, I even have their Julian Temple movie "Mantrap" on Laserdisc. Its totally stupid I love it, great live renditions tho.
