Loved hearing Soma again, but the highlight was Geek USA, that solo really opened my eyes to immense shredding!

I've been listening to bootlegs of Pumpkins concerts in my car as I'm still buzzing from seeing them live the other week.

Loved hearing Soma again, but the highlight was Geek USA, that solo really opened my eyes to immense shredding!

Yeah its an album jam packed with classic songs...in fact every tune is fantastic! For me though its all about hummer, that tune is as close to perfect as you can get.

Also some of the best instrumentals of any of their work. I just love the way they incorporate the military drum style into tunes like hummer, amongst others.

I couldnt possibly guess how many times i have heard the album from start to finish in one sitting, but it must be in the 1000's.....when i was about 13-14 i used to fall asleep most school nights listening to the tape on my walkman. It connects today just as much as it did then.

The instrumentals at around the 4:30 mark that continue until the end of the track are just too good for words.......Amazing. If ever i had to pick one song and sit someone down and say "right here listen to a track from start to finish" in a quiet room with a good pair of eadphones on... this would surely be it.

Anyway enough lip service.
