Brothers in Arms is such a quality song. Going to have to listen to them on Spotify now to get my fix

Love the Straits. The video for Romeo and Juliet is one of my earliest memories. That and this absolute corker:

Easing myself into the weekend with some more comforting classics

Now I love EBTG, Tracey Thorn's voice is simply heartbreaking, their acoustic version of driving is one of my favourites of theirs. A bit of searching on YouTube and I found a cover by Olivia Ong which is pretty beautiful too

I love Aimee Mann this gets me every single time

Finally for now my favourite RHCP's version of this song awesome!!

He drops the piano bit from Al Stewart's Year of the Cat at 4:30 and I just froze

Who can't miss the old days of rock 'n' roll and rhythm and blues when you hear tunes like this... puts modern music to shame:

I'll take your solo Mavis and raise the stakes by including the full family and adding the band.

The Weight, eh? Now there's a tune and a half. And the Staples family as backing singers? I can't top that. It's one of the great songs of all time (in my opinion).

If you didn't know about this version, you have to go and buy Scorcese's The Last Waltz immediately.

Aretha does an unreal version of it too, and that's Duane Allman on guitar.

Have heard at least half a dozen covers of The Weight but I've never heard that one which, I must say, is right up there with the best. It's an interesting sound too, a funky soul version but with a slight bluesy vibe thanks to Allman's guitar playing. Really is a fabulous version of an already fabulous song. Might just have to check out The Last Waltz.
