I thought about giving this it's own thread - it deserves one.

    Emma Pollock - Adrenaline. <3 <3

The long, long-awaited debut solo singer from the wonderful voice of The Delgados, and it's fantastic. It doesn't reach the lofty heights of Hate or The Great Eastern, but still, that was a band whose individual and collective talent we will be fortunate to ever hear the like of again.

Truly fantastic, and I'm so glad she's back.

Are you a deejay then, or one of them thar reviewers, Boggy?

        Comment

Nah none of that, I just know some people on a Prodigy forum who sorted me out. I think they may be dj's or reviewers possibly. I know one of them has close ties to Liam Howlett and various others.

Just a bit of luck really It sounds good too, by the way.

Ion Dissonance - Minus The Herd

Heaviest thing I've heard so far in 2007! Ridiculously bottom-heavy, intense, riffs... lots of riffs... beat-downs. This **** will make your ears bleed, your brain will run out of your nose etc.

The songs seem to have more structure than their previous effort, 'Solace', which was really good. This however, surpasses that IMO. Musically, think Slipknot, but heavier... much heavier.

Comment away, 112! This folder is thankfully free of any l33t criticisms. I heart Timabaland's desk work, not too sure about his solo releases though.

Actually listening to Ultimate Aaliyah now. Great stuff by both of them

That'd be amazing, but there's always rumours about a new portishead album so i'm sceptical to say the least. Or is it comfirmed this time?

I hope Gibbons has still got it, i'm sure she does.

Cut Copy - Bright Like Neon Love.

Will take a tip from Pookmunki, and put Mad Season's Above on afterwards. Bought it years ago when I was into teh grunge, and I've hardly listened to it. Will be like a brand new record!

Well, Portishead's myspace site seems to think the album will be out this year! And I linked to it from the Portishead website, so I don't think it's bogus either! Man, I really want to see them live too

The Manics were at the top of their game when THB came out & you're right everything they've done since is compared to it. Lets hope ppl listen to their new album from a neutral POV!!

Super return to form in Send away the tigers which I've been listening to today but to be honest, they never lost form, Lifeblood was excellent, just different.
Yes Lifeblood does what every Manics album has done, which is throw something a little different into the mix, only theres more of it to be seen in Lifeblood.
I havent got the new album yet waiting to order it along with the New Travis & Thirteen Senses albums @ the end of the week when I get paid!

Beth Gibbons & Paul Webb - "Out of Season"
                                Radiohead - "Remyxamatosis"
Ornette Coleman - "Beauty is a Rare Thing"

The Portishead album was announced for this year seemingly months ago, although that doesn't guarantee anything...I'm feeling hopeful as they've been doing a lot of studio work this year.

I'd recommend this to any Portishead fans who can't handle the wait:
Out of Season - Beth Gibbons & Paul Webb
I'd describe it as acoustic Portishead...sort of...in a way lol!
If you like Portishead, pick it up as it's really good.

Radiohead have a new album out this year too which I REALLY can't wait for!!! Thom Yorke has described it as OK Computer.....but paranoid & scary
