Yeah, i love that all these systems even if happened to be accidental or planned have had clear examples of uses in early chapaters like Captain.Kuro and his Silent Step move was basically him discovering Haki speed step on his own.

And as you said Haki isn't the be all and end all, its a way to defend and hurt Logia and DF users but then advanced/awakened users of DF can apply there DF is imagintive and surpising ways, like the CP9 animal DF crew.

Whatever you do, don't watch Elfen Lied expecting light hearted fluff.

DearS is pretty close in nature to it (much heavier on the fanservice) as is Hand Maid May.

More recently there's Sora no Otoshimono which I like (don't expect anything especially deep from it though).

You could also check out the wider "average guy gets inadvertently engaged to a girl" genre, with Ah My Goddess being the most famous example.

Watched the first episode for each series (I thought Hand Maid May was a feature length movie). Going to pass on DearS and Elfen. Not what I'm currently looking for. I'll watch May as it's only 11 eps. May is a good Chi replacement and there are a few clazy characters to spice things up. It could do with more nose bleeds though. I'll have a sniff at Sora tomorrow.

I'll re-watch Chobits after HMM as it's what I'm hankering after at the moment.

Madoka ep6 - Man i didn't feel good watching this, you just felt more death was on the way for the magic girls,

throughout the episode i was just expecting some sort nastyness to happen, when it came down to Madoka killing Miki it just when from regular dark to just pure evil on behalf of that little crap Kyuby, i was just suprised Miki death lasted briefy as i was expecting it end up smashed or not work when they returned it.

Might step back on the girl v girl stuff for the moment with whatever this "night" is coming to build them to knock them down

. Still love the show though.

Yep Madoka certainly isn't a show for the faint hearted.

Hoping it won't go OTT on the tragic aspects.

Not exactly new or current but I'm up to about ep 120 of One Piece. It's great fun, though I'll be happy when Arabaster is done, been going for just a little bit too long. Luffy is a great character and he's funny in nearly any situation.

I'm not in any rush to catch up, I just watch a couple of episodes here and there. It's good to know that I won't be running out any time soon and it means I don't have to worry about kaizoku fansubs being behind as they're still waaaay ahead of me.

Arabaster had a couple of filler arc's from what i remember, not great ones either. Doesn't heat up till croc vs luffy and One v Zoro

Madoka ep7 ... Another good episode that keeps me comng back for more. This again features QB being a right little ****,

i don't know if he's causing the pain on the soul gem or allowing the soul to feel the pain of the body.. and now we have Sayaka on course for a complete break down after potentially losing her love and being disgusted with her 'dead' body. We learn wishes backfire and the distance between the Soul and the Body lessens the pain... and sayaka going banana's at the end makes me think that QB's making witches from messed up magical girls to eat corruption/grief seeds.

Next week can't come soon enough.

Naruto 197-199 back on to the canon at last

Ore no Imouto ep12 "True Route", mazui subbed the webcast so its not HQ and would have to wait till the dvd/br come out with the other extra episodes. Anyway starts of the same as the TV episode, starts getting abit different after picking up the eroge and the ending of course is much better(for me),

Need to watch that, kind of a shame the OVA 'true route' stuff means we probably won't see an S2 though.

Haven't enjoyed this season much, only thing I'm really following now is Madoka and I'm considering dropping that because it's a bit too depressing.

Still, end of March is when the stuff I'm looking forward to starts coming out (Nana to Kaoru OVA \o/)

Light Novels suggest there is enough for a 2nd season, depending how much the next 2/3 ova eps cover.

As for the season i've found stuff i can watch in the old shows (One Piece, Star Driver, and Naruto) sequels in Index, KnT, Mitsudomoe, the good new stuff Madoka, Wandering Son, Level E and enjoyable trash from Zombie, Freezing and IS.

But i have found myself with out anything to watch so finished off Occult which turned bonkers in the last 2 episodes and Ghost Hound from a couple of years ago which had a anti climatic ending after a good slow and steady build up with the story and character development, love the sound work they put in to it though.
